Re: [SLUG] Debian: How do I remove a package and all it's dependencies?

2008-08-10 Thread Dean Hamstead
apt-get [remove|purge] package-name
apt-get autoremove

refer to the apt-get man page (man apt-get) for the nuances of apt-get's
options.

other useful tools are deborphan and the happy menu based orphaner.
which you may have to apt-get install first :)

 Hi all

I have a Debian server and I wish to remove several dozen packages.
How do I remove a package and it's dependencies?

Perhaps use a tool like aptitude - it will find/display dependencies for
 you.

Is there an equivalent to whirlpool.net.au for domain name registrars?
I.e. a single site which allows me to compare pricing over all of the
 Australian domain name registrars?

In the fine tradition of not answering the question asked.
name.com does $6 domain names. I don't believe they
do au domains, though.

Re: [SLUG] comparing domain registrar prices

2008-08-10 Thread Jamie Powell
whatsinaname.com.au is a pretty good source - I believe it's maintained by
Josh Rowe, who is on the AuDA board but works for Australia Post - he's
hence a consumer not supplier.

He lists accredited registrars, not necessarily resellers you may also see
in the market that sell domain names through one of these registrars to
complement their other services.
