[SLUG] Digitrex camera
I am not able to successfully connect a Digitrex DSC2100 camera to my Redhat 8.0 system using the USB cable. I'd rather not be forced to use the kids' Win 98 box to extract my photos! I can't get much info from Google and certainly none from the Digitrex site. usbview successfully displays the camera name with a ton of other details but it is displayed in red which I believe indicates problems. When I try and mount the device with #mount /dev/sda1 /mnt/camera I get the error message #mount: /dev/sda1 is not a valid block device I can successfully mount and then read/write to a usb memory stick so the usb stack and hardware are OK. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Cheers David Perry -- SLUG - Sydney Linux User's Group - http://slug.org.au/ More Info: http://lists.slug.org.au/listinfo/slug
[SLUG] pinging from RH9
Success! Thanks to Ben and Scott for their suggestions. When I installed RH9 I had not entered the correct address for the gateway (my Smoothwall firewall). Netstat -nr showed this up. So I could browse the web using the proxy in Smoothie which was correctly specified in Mozilla, but I couldn't ping or use the Mozilla e-mail.
