Re: [SLUG] IPsec AES module
From memeory you need kernel-patch-freeswan-ext module instead of kernel-patch-freeswan From what I can find the -ext package no longer exists. I can't seem to find out if that means they rolled the extra functions in to kernel-patch-freeswan. There are a bunch of files that suggest this might be the case: /usr/src/kernel-source-2.4.20/include/config/ipsec/ext/aes /usr/src/kernel-source-2.4.20/include/config/ipsec/ext/aes.h /usr/src/kernel-source-2.4.20/include/config/ipsec/ext/aes/module.h /usr/src/kernel-source-2.4.20/include/config/ipsec/ext/aes/opt /usr/src/kernel-source-2.4.20/include/config/ipsec/ext/aes/opt.h /usr/src/kernel-source-2.4.20/include/config/ipsec/ext/aes/opt/module.h the ext has the extra encrpytion modules. But good luck I have just noticed that version 2 is eliminating the 1.99-x series. I haven't delved in to version 2. I've got 1.96 which I can still get because I believe 1.99 has been shown the door in the packages. -Paul. -- SLUG - Sydney Linux User's Group - http://slug.org.au/ More Info: http://lists.slug.org.au/listinfo/slug
[SLUG] IPsec AES module
Hi all, I've been working on some freeswan ipsec stuff of late. I've got just about everything as I want it. But I'd like to ditch 3DES for AES. Doesn't appear too difficult, load the module and config ipsec.conf. Okay but where did my module go? To get ipsec I've compiled 2.4.20 with kernel-patch-freeswan (debian package) set ipsec and set all the extras as modules. This was all done using make-kpkg --config=menuconfig --revision=blah --initrd kernel_image. Post compile the .config states the ipsec extras as modules. Problem is I can't find the aes module...or anything resembling any ipsec module in /lib/modules. I can find all the source neatly attached to my kernel source in /usr/src/linux. So I'm at a bit of a loss. I assume I've missed something in the compile but I haven't found any doco telling me I should have done anything other make-mpkg command. I have an odd mix of stable/testing/unstable trying to get ipsec to function. Anybody got any ideas? Cheers. -Paul. -- SLUG - Sydney Linux User's Group - http://slug.org.au/ More Info: http://lists.slug.org.au/listinfo/slug
[SLUG] Debian install
Hi all, Just a quick query. Is there a simple way to load a driver during/before the installation of Debian. I assume there is I'm just missing the plot. I'm trying to use a HP NetRAID 1M card, which doesn't load off the bat, making it difficult to install on the mirrored set. thanks, -- -Paul de Kievit NetOptions Ph: (07) 3844 1888 Fax: (07) 3844 4155 This email contains confidential information intended for the use of the addressee named above. [SLUG] Ipmasq and dialin
Hi all, I've recently discovered that our new ipmasq rules block people who dial in to the linux server to remotely work/browse. This is easily avoided by recalculating ipmasq while the link is up. However I'm at a loss as to the best way to automate this procedure when someone dials up, short of messing with the ipmasq rules and hard coding the ppp0 interface. Surely it is quick and simple enough, at least if I was dialing out, is there a neat way of doing this when someone dials in? -- -Paul de Kievit NetOptions Ph: (07) 3844 1888 Fax: (07) 3844 4155 This email contains confidential information intended for the use of the addressee named above. [SLUG] Cisco 827 ADSL Router
Hi Everyone, Perhaps not the right place to post this, but there's a chance some techs out there may have come across this. I have a Cisco 827 ADSL router with the intention of replacing the alcatel modem supplied by Telstra. It's certifed to work by Telstra but so far I'm getting 1st level supports "we don't support that". Has anyone else had any experiences with setting one of these routers up?
