[SLUG] Question on Gnome.
Have just installed Fedora4 and was fiddling around with the Desktop. I noticed something that I've not been able to fix. In the past, when I minimized something, it always migrated to the bottom tool bar, for subsequent resurrection. Not now. Now it flies off to the right of the screen, I know not where. It may be that the tool bar extends out beyond the right edge of the screen, too, and that minimizing is acting correctly. (No evidence, but there has to be something that's doing it.) Don't know what I did to cause this, but it's going to be a nuisance if I can't fix it, because I'm a command-line freak and like to have several files open/minimized at a session. Has anyone seen this before? Any help would be appreciated, Bill Bennett. -- SLUG - Sydney Linux User's Group Mailing List - http://slug.org.au/ Subscription info and FAQs: http://slug.org.au/faq/mailinglists.html

You may want to dig around in the X configuration tool to see. That's the most likely thing, given your explanation. - Jeff -- GNOME Summit: October 8th-10th http://live.gnome.org/Boston2005 Push the envelope, or push the daisies. -- SLUG - Sydney Linux User's Group Mailing List - http://slug.org.au/ Subscription info and FAQs: http://slug.org.au/faq/mailinglists.html

Haveing set up dual monitors, I find it very hard to believe this set up would happen by accident. My guess is that you have simply removed the window list from your tool bar. To fix, just right click the toolbar - Add to panel , then scroll down and select wondow list. Then minimize something and stare in amazement at my all knowing all seeing, massive brain. or not! Hope thats the prob! Oh yeah, if you did have dual monitor set up, you would be able to drag windows right off the screen, you cant do that can you ?? tuxta2 Do you Yahoo!?
