That is the right syntax, you might want to check the console-tools settings if you are using Debian, I've noticed that they have sometimes screwed with my console settings. Pete. Hi all, I have tried to disable the console screensaver (on RedHat 9) with; setterm -blank 0 but have had no luck. Which user and which terminal are you attempting to disable it from? Generally, doing so as root on one of the virtual consoles will work. YMMV when doing it from an init script.
