Re: [SLUG] We need an IP accounting package
Check out bandwidthd: http://bandwidthd.sourceforge.net/ Take a look at the screenshots and see if it meets your requiremnets. I think MRTG requires SNMP, but there are no such devices on this small network. ipac is old and the official source doesn't support 2.4.x kernels (IPChains). This one time, at band camp, Minh Van Le wrote: Hello :) I am looking for an IP volume bandwidth accounting package to track user and/or workstation usage on a small network. pmacct, http://www.ba.cnr.it/~paolo/pmacct/ does everything you want for the accounting side of things, and reporting that data is pretty trivial. You can hook it into rrdtool-based things easy, or write your own. I would steer well away from ipac and derivatives if you want to keep your firewall sane. -- SLUG - Sydney Linux User's Group Mailing List - http://slug.org.au/ Subscription info and FAQs: http://slug.org.au/faq/mailinglists.html
