are you trying to run kde as root?  why?
what about if you try as a normal user?

Trying to get KDE running on woody.  Can't get beyond an error message saying:

Could not read network connection list

Please check the 'dcopserver' program is running.'

Seen a lot of usenet postings and the like complaining of this problem, but
