[debian] Xorg fails to start after upgrade to 1.7.7
Hello, I had an adventureous moment yesterday and did a apt-get upgrade on my freerunner running debian. I noticed xserver-xorg and related packages were being updated. Unfortunately, X now fails to start 1. missing lib /usr/lib/dri/swrast_dri.so that is easily solved by # apt-get install libgl1-mesa-dri The question remains, whether this dependency should have been installed automatically. 2. X.Org X Server 1.7.7 Release Date: 2010-05-04 X Protocol Version 11, Revision 0 Build Operating System: Linux 2.6.32-trunk-iop32x armv5tel Debian Current Operating System: Linux neo 2.6.29-20100118.gita15608f2 #1 Sat Feb 20 23:58:37 CET 2010 armv4tl Kernel command line: rootfstype=jffs2 root=/dev/mtdblock6 console=ttySAC2,115200 console=tty0 loglevel=8 regular_boot mtdparts=physmap-f lash:-(nor);neo1973-nand:0x0004(u-boot),0x0004(u-boot_env),0x0080(kernel),0x000a(splash),0x0004(factory),0x0f6a( rootfs) rootfstype=ext2 root=/dev/mmcblk0p2 rootdelay=5 Build Date: 05 June 2010 05:17:19PM xorg-server 2:1.7.7-2 (Julien Cristau jcris...@debian.org) Current version of pixman: 0.16.4 ... snip ... (EE) Error compiling keymap (server-0) (EE) XKB: Couldn't compile keymap XKB: Failed to compile keymap Keyboard initialization failed. This could be a missing or incorrect setup of xkeyboard-config. Fatal server error: Failed to activate core devices. Please consult the The X.Org Foundation support at http://wiki.x.org for help. Please also check the log file at /var/log/Xorg.0.log for additional information. Asking clusty.com and google did not turn up something obviously useful. Any advice? I suppose you too can just remove it? -Timo ___ Smartphones-userland mailing list Smartphones-userland@linuxtogo.org http://lists.linuxtogo.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/smartphones-userland
