[RCSE] A web site to explain the different F3's ?

2000-06-28 Thread Miles

I am familiar with the F3x letters, but I don't know what they mean. I am
sure they refer to different types of soaring. Is there a web site that
will explain what F3B, F3F, F3J, and AMA TD are? I didn't find it on f3x.

Thanks
Miles

2000-06-28 Thread John Ensoll

Hi All,
I have a friend who is not on the soaring exchange and would like me to ask
if the above Rx can be modified from three channels to obtain 4 or 5. The
decoder number is BU4015BF.
Your help will be appreciated.

[RCSE] Super V

2000-06-28 Thread Keith

As a matter of fact, I just traded 2 of my personal stock for 2 molded
planes! I won't mention the new owner but he has won both Mid South and TNT
more than once! Let's think about this, $1300 worth of molded planes for 2
"out of date" 2M's. Does this sound odd? Not in my way of thinking. I
talked to Mark Levoe right after he quit production. He had an almost 8
month backlog. I like many feel the plane died an untimely death.
Fortunately this can be rectified IF there is enough interest.

George,

Watching this thread develop, I have to add this comment:

It seems to me that the interest in the Super V seems to be primarily in the 2M model
and not the larger one. The interest also seems very much a regional thing, much like
the Predator XL and Predator 4 by Dave Hill of Hawaii (he's my neighbor). I've only
seen one Super V in all the contests (especially the big ones) I've been to in the
Southwestern U.S. in the last two years. In fact, favorite models seem to be even
more localized by club! In just the Southern California area alone, I've seen
distinctive patterns with regard to most popular model vs. club location, especially
when certain builders or dealers/distributors are prominantly located nearby. I don't
know if this stands out for me more than most because I travel for a living and have
the opportunity to fly with various groups and clubs around the country and the world,
but think about it. It makes sense doesn't it?

[RCSE] Eclipse

2000-06-28 Thread Dan Borer

Hi all--

I'm looking for data and impressions on the F3J Eclipse.
Does anyone have any comments, good or bad? I normally fly
club contests and the SC2 circuit. Would it be worth my time
and money to pursue one of these things?

[RCSE] THUNDERBIRD info

2000-06-28 Thread Dave Garwood

I got my THUNDERBIRD in the air, and it flys great.

Can anyone help with some basic info on this 164-inch span,
full house killer TD bird? Looks to me like it's designed
for cross country work, and I saw another example fly at the
World Soaring Jamboree in 1994, but I don't know even who
developed the design or who built this example.

[RCSE] Heavy-Duty High Starts British hobby stores

2000-06-28 Thread Adam Till

Good evening gents,

I was just wandering if anyone had any leads on a good, heavy-duty
high-start. My club has a couple of really heafty winches, but when they're
not out, my RnR Genesis and my friend's ICARE DG-600 stay firmly grounded,
and my Multiplex Lucky is a little iffy on launch. I've been looking around
at the usual suspects (Multiplex 4M start, which is huge, and the NES Zoom
start), because my 11 year old Dynaflight open start just doesn't cut it
anymore.

On a semi-related note, I'm going to be in the UK in a few weeks, and I was
wondering if anyone knew of any good hobby shops in the vacinity of Oxford?
My wallet might not appreciate it, but I will ;)

Cheers,
Adam Till

[RCSE] TV Stars Time

2000-06-28 Thread Karlton Spindle

The TV company MOVED the time BACK to 5:30 start NOT 4:30 start so if you
have a PICO Jet you want to race then be at my office at 4:45 so we have
time to set the pylons and stuff at the test field.

I need to know before hand who is coming and what channels your on... PLEASE
:)
