Re: [RCSE] Mysterious unsubscriptions

2001-01-02 Thread David A. Enete

I have had kind of the opposite problem happen. I was
subscribed with a different email address but I would
never get posts sent to it. Now 6 months later I get
maybe one post every two days to it and this after
un-subcribing numerous times. Computers can be funny
things.

Would you be interested in subscribing to a more friendly and
configurable RCSE if it was available with all of the same people on
the list? It would mean leaving AirAge behind, but would still be
free from advertising. Read it via email/digest/web, etc.

[RCSE] Sanding

2001-01-02 Thread Dave Seay

What is the recommended way to sand the LE of a flap or aileron? The kits I
have had so far had me glue on a 3/32" piece of balsa and sand an angle. I
got as close as I could but usually the face has a slight roundness to it.
I guess I could have cut one surface back the correct amount and then glued
on the strip which would have then been at the correct angle and flat. Of
course, this also pertains to the sanding of the angles and the dihedral and
poly breaks on RES ships.

Is there a tool or method that you can use to maintain the correct angle
during the entire sanding process and end up with a flat sanded surface?

Re: [RCSE] Millenium Deal has a winner!

It was a 'Lil Luscomb' for $25.

I found it too but was not the first. Always a day late and/or a dollar
short!

[RCSE] Re: Selig 3037 Coordinate File

2001-01-02 Thread Mark D. Holm

Selig's own airfoil database,
http://www.uiuc.edu/ph/www/m-selig/ads/coord_database.html , doesn't
list a 3037. There is a S8037 and a SD7037.

[RCSE] DS slopes in New England?

2001-01-02 Thread Joel A. Foner

After watching all of Lift Ticket (present from you-know-who!) I gotta find
a DS slope in New England... That video is just beyone belief. If you
don't come away from it panting and drooling you're in the wrong hobby! The
"Got Foam?" bit is just too funny also - the kids just want to see that
section over and over again...

Has anyone successfully DS'd anything anywhere in New England? Somewhere in
Massachusetts would be "too cool"... I'm hoping to find that someone has
blazed the trail here on the left coast, where we don't have the benefit of
Parker Mountain and the "DS dieties", but that won't stop me if no one's
tried yet!

Thanks in advance,

Joel

Does the IMS in Pasadena generally run on Friday, too, or is it just
