I know that Terry Luckenbach, Phil Barnes and Tom Kiesling all have problems
with the name Pretty Mantis. May I suggest that we all try to call it
something different, like Terry Mantis.

Don't bother to tell me that I have used the P word. I know. J

NO aftermarket stick can be used under part 15 of the FCC
on 72Mhz unless it was certified with the radio. :(

Karlton is right. The FCC is quite insistent. He had to wrestle with them
to bring the German radios into this country and I appreciate him for doing
it. It was a long battle as I recall.

Rule one with monofilament.

No excess on the drum when you are ready to launch.

Unlike braided it will unwind on itself many layers down like a giant

Bubba really likes Don's tape, but Bubba thinks it's a real pain in the area
surrounding his rectum to squeeze the oil out of them fish. Bubba likes to go
fishin, but gettin that oil out of 'em is kinda like work. And even ifn you can
lock the damn cats up they goes to hollerin something awful when you start
 renderin the fish.

Bubba says that he heard of somethin called goo gone that'd remove the residue,
but it's made out of some kind of envirnmentally kerrect solvents that ain't
allowed in Alabammy. Mebby Don can find you some, he comes from the left coast
where they got fruits and nuts and flakes and all that stuff.

[RCSE] Help with a link for CNC service.

2004-01-28 Thread Scobie Puchtler
Hello guys,
Was it this list where someone had posted a link to an online cnc machining
service?
It was a website with a 3-D part design interface that let you design and
loft a part, and then basically order that part to be machined and sent to
you directly, made in whatever material you chose from a menu.

I know there are plenty of 'part quote' CNC services, but this link was the
closest I've ever seen to a one stop
design-your-part-and-order-it-in-one-step type service.

I use the 3M brand 1/2 and 3/4 electrical tape, they come in all
colors. The 1/2 tape sometimes called phasing tape for wire ID's.
The 1 wide tape is too wide for going around compound curves.

For cleaning, I use isopropol Alcohol(rubbing alcohol) that has at
least 70% alcohol(90% stuff working better)

[RCSE] Becker aerials for the Multiplex EVO - Pics posted

2004-01-28 Thread Joedy Drulia
I've posted some photos of the Becker 72mHz aerial for the Multiplex EVO
here:

http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?s=postid=1764352#post1764352

These are considerably shorter than the MPX telescoping antennas and much
lighter as well. They unsrew from the base when putting the EVO back into
the carrying case.

I purchased mine from Gordon at www.modelspot.com in the UK. (Be sure to
tell him that Joedy sent you.)

With the current weak dollar, the conversion rate works out to be about 60
dollars US for the 72mHz Becker. Shipping costs were no more than typical
UPS charges and took about a week to arrive.

Gordon just an order of th 72mHz recently after having them on back order
from Becker for a while. There's no telling how long the next batch will be
once his current stock of 72mHz Beckers run out.

I am attempting to determine if a Smiley antenna (perhaps the Stlyus
version) will mate with the brass plug. I believe, but am not certain, that
the treads of the brass plug are 4mm. Has anyone on the list attempted to do
this yet with either the EVO or the Profi line?

[RCSE] People are talking

2004-01-28 Thread Jerry Krainock
Here is what people are saying about the Photon II

Arthur in NJ:
The model is fantastic, the workmanship is beautiful.

Greg in San Francisco:
Once again I have to say that I'm really impressed with the quality of
the Photon II. It is the 7th dlg I've owned and it is definitely the
cream of the crop so far in terms of engineering and construction. I've
no doubt it will fly great as well considering the light weight and Mark
Drela airfoil.

John in Santa Clarita:
This is a beautiful plane up close. The wing mount, the pod, even the
hatch
cover are immaculately produced. I'd had it assembled for a bit before
I
flew it and I wasn't sure it would be able to take a full launch as the
wing
mount only is from the leading edge back to the spar. It can take it!

Interesting Day in Simi Valley today watching John Erickson launching
his new P II higher than his Encore.

Just a few Photon’s left in the Feb. shipment.
