Hi all,

Just to remind you that this Saturday coming up 3rd JUNE 2006 is the
replacement Scottish Nats for F3F slope racing.

Meeting will be at the usual place, East Lomond car park, 9.30 for 10.00
start.

Remember the venue for the Nats is weather dependant and if possible we
will be flying on Bishop Hill, so an early start for the hill will be
required.

Re: [RCSE] MOM scoring software

2006-06-01 Thread Raschow
Take a look at <>. It works well for us in
the ESL. It can even be made to support seeded man-on-man by selecting the
seeded groups manually from the cumulative standings after each round and then
entering the seeded group # along with each contestants score (overriding
the randomly generated group # by the program) in the subsequent round. Good
Lift!

Can anyone help with the schematics (how is it wired) for the Multiplex RX
Synth PC cable. (the picture looks simple, but who knows the pin assignments
in the serial plug, or if there are any electronic components inside)
Many thanks in advance.

Re: [RCSE] Vinyl lettering

Here's a link to some cleaned up versions of the AMA logo for printing or
for vinyl cutting.
If anyone wants it in another version, let me know.

Hey guys I was wondering if anyone knows the guy that has a booth at the
Visalia fall fest that does vinyl lettering (AMA numbers etc.)

I bought some from him before and now I can't seem to find the numbers I
would like to put them on a new plane I just got going.

Does anyone have a web site or contact for him?

Thanks Darrell Z.

[RCSE] East Coast HLG Festival '06

2006-06-01 Thread Oleg Golovidov
I think it is time to start the official propaganda campaign for our
fall contest. So here we go...

East Coast HLG Festival 2006 will take place as usual in Wilson, North
Carolina, on October 21-22, 2006.

We will have 2 days of intense competition with (hopefully) some of the
best East Coast pilots and maybe even some West Coast pilots. It will be
difficult to match Denny with his excellent marketing and entertainment
skills and a special charm that attracted over 60 registered pilots to
the polecat contest, but we promise you that if you come to Wilson, you
will not regret the experience. For that matter, Denny usually shows up
too, so those of you strongly attracted by his charm :-) you will
probably see him in Wilson also (right Denny?). We provide lunch on both
days. Looking at how much fun we had last year at Denny's contest and
how many people are attracted this year just by the promise of a good
steak dinner on Saturday, we are also thinking about organizing an
on-field dinner, probably "pig picking" in the best southern traditions.

I do not have a web-page ready yet, but you can take a look at the last
year's page and even see results and pictures http://olgol.com/contest

Registration for ESL members can be done on-line here:
http://www.flyesl.com/contest_regis...list.asp?cid=21

ESL information pages are here:
http://www.flyesl.com/calendar.asp
http://www.flyesl.com/contest_regis...tail.asp?cid=21

For non-ESL folks, please do not think that you are not welcome! You do
not have to be an ESL member, in fact we will have to pay to ESL for
each ESL member participating in the contest! :-) You can send an e-mail
to me or Dick Proseus to reserve the frequency, and later I will have a
web-page with the registration form and mailing address.

Sponsors are also most welcome to support our contest. I will put all
sponsor names on the web-page and will try to mention your names every
time on the forums when talking about the contest :-) If you would like
to donate an item to the pilots raffle or make a special prize, please
contact me by e-mail.

More new will follow when available.
Regards,
Oleg.

Subject: [RCSE] DARTS HLG Contest this weekend - June 3 and 4

The DARTS are holding their annual HLG weekend at Twin Towers (Yellow
Springs, Ohio) this coming weekend.

Separate contests will be held each day and an overall champion will be
crowned on Sunday. We'll have a pilot's meeting each day at 9:00am and
we will end on Sunday early enough for the out of town crowd to get a
jump on traffic. Trophies are awarded each day, and an overall champion
trophy* is handed out as well.

Tasks will be similar to those that we'll see at this year's NATs.

Pre-entries are encouraged, please send an email with frequency requests
to Tom Siler at [EMAIL PROTECTED] Field information is available at
the DARTS homepage, www.daytonsoaring.org

Brent

* This is our first event of the season, and we are at this point
waiting on the trophies. There is a chance that the actual trophies will
be sent out to the winners a week or two after the event. My apologies
in advance.

[RCSE] Vacuum bagging Alcyone wings

2006-06-01 Thread Scott and Jennifer Martin
Hi all:

I need some help from those of you who have vacuum bagged Alcyone wings.

The balsa skins are wider than the core chord. They stick out beyond the
foam beds by about an inch or so, and I wonder how vacuum bagging will
affect the trailing edge of the wing, given that there is no foam bed
support for it.

I appreciate your advice on how to bag the wings without ruining the
trailing edge.

Thanks!

Scott
