Re: [RCSE] Muncie Weather?
As someone who has never been involved with power planes, I got here a day early and figured I watch some power stuff. Never realized that Pattern flying meant everyone does the same thing over and over and over, etc. for three days. It rained some today, so it cooled off a bit. Lots of big storms to the North. T Temperature at my flying field in Oklahoma was 106 today and heading higher tomorrow. Not enough Gatorade in the world to take much more of that! I flew My SB/XC all the time until I built the Sperber after modifying the Elevator ( Changing it from a T tail to a X tail ), all I an say is that the Sperber covers some ground. ;-) Sitting for a year without flying Ouch! Re: [RCSE] Muncie
Hey if any you guys are interested, I would be more than happy to keep your Cross Country Ships exercised for you. It just is not right to make any sailplane set idle for a year or more. I have my LSF Level IV and V Goal and Returns to do so I could even exercise them in their own element. Just a thought. The long and the short of it is that FM/PCM has advantages over FM. Check the archives for more info... [RCSE] NATs HLG
I been here since July 3rd. It has been so full of RC fliers that getting to fly was almost impossible even though open flying was available after each days contest, the contestants would all fly till dark. So today I got the chance to fly my new Vandal. the workmanship on this modeol is second to none, and it seem to fly VERY well, I'll find out more tomorrow during the HLG contest, but I like what I see :-) C U All soon George RCSE-List facilities provided by Model Airplane News. [RCSE] PCM vs FM in Sailplanes,,,HUGE advantages!
The long and the short of it is that FM/PCM has advantages over FM. I never thought that PCM had any advantage over just plain old FM, until I got a PCM RXfrom the first moment of powering up it seems I can't get less than perfect task times, I don't mean that I get around 10minutes occasionally, I get 10mins every time, and right on the second! With the help of PCM I now hit hundreds so precisely that the nose of my plane is getting damaged from the top of the nail in the ground holding the tape! Before with just plain old FM I'd be flying my sailplanes somewhere in the world, and they'd just like fly around and sort of land, it would happen over and over and over and over etc. But now with PCM, well, what else can I say, its clear that PCM has advantages over FM. Hope that clears things up for all you have been wondering. GordyHad enough of Buffalo
[RCSE] Re: Soaring V1 #7971
Some will say that PCM is better and more reliable. I can neither confirm or dispute this point as I have not used PCM receivers. I will point you to a couple of articles that discusses PCM, how it works and their opinion of the advantages.
