[RCSE] SOAR Fred Fredrickson, OVSS contest #8 next weekend!

This is a reminder/announcement that the SOAR club from Chicago,IL is 
having it's annual Fred Fredrickson Memorial contest September 9,and 10. 
Classes flown wil be unlimited Man-on-Man thermal duration (no skegs) both 
days and is also included in the OVSS Midwest contest series.The contest 
will be held at the beautiful Central Sod farm in Oswego,IL. All details and 
exact location can be found on the SOAR website at www.soarchicago.net . 
This is going to be a great soaring contest, so make plans now to attend 
this event!

It is a really simple proceedure to pop out the plastic retaining pins that 
secure the upper/lower fences on MPX spoiler systems (as well as the knock-offs 
found in some of the eastern block offerings) and paint them with Pactra candy 
red to mimic an anodized finish similar to some fullsize aircraft.

If your goal is to see their operation during deployment prior to landing, then 
I suggest getting some flourescent red or orange vinyl from a local sign shop 
and again removing the fences and sticking it on. Cut it over size, apply it, 
then use an Xacto to cut off the access along the perifery and within the 
mounting holes.

Adding this is an excellent idea, especially the orange which can be seen at a 
greater distance than the red. It has happened to me where upon retracting the 
spoilers resulted in one remaining jammed open. These visual aids helped me 
realize this and take the appropriate action...

I am having trouble finding a sertin type of Airbreak
I saw some that were had anodized red louvers so that at a distance they
are easily detected as in the up position. I assumed that they were
Multiplex but I cant find them. If anybody has these coul you please let me
know were I can get 2pr. of them 300mm or 350mm.
