Re: [RCSE] Jack Benny is 39 and 2.4 is 38? Thanks for the 'assurances and guesses!
Steve Kaluf's employment at AMA was terminated last August. They are currently seeking a new Technical Director per their Now Hiring area but the ad states they wanted applications no later than Sept 28th. Not sure if they have a replacement yet. Thanks for the 'assurances and guesses! I would expect the spektrum limit and what happens when the channels are occupied was addressed to the AMA's satisfaction. Perhaps asking Steve Kaluf is in order. He's the AMA tech guy. The Futaba systems represent momentary narrow band emissions and as such will not interfere with the Direct Sequence system used by JR/Spektrum.when you get 39 JR/Spektrum radios on at the same time, then number 40 will not be able to achieve a lock with the receiver.that one won't be able to fly till one of the other ones is turned off...none of the other ones currently on will be affected by the 40th one..the Futaba and JR systems use VERY different Spread Spectrum systems...the Futaba frequency hopping system basically uses a narrow band signal but change the frequency across a wide spectrum..the JR/Spektrum Direct Sequence system literally spreads the data packets across a wide spectrum.the great part about this is when the receiver puts all of this back together.the direct sequence system reduces the background interference to a minimum.. [RCSE] Old Old Servo Arms needed :-)
I found this post on the Australian version of RCSE... Kind of got a kick out of it... Hell, maybe one of you can help this poor guy out :-) Craig Wanted old servo armsPosted by: vh4143 [EMAIL PROTECTED] Wed Dec 26, 2007 2:56 am(PST) G'day all and all the best for the new year. My old KRAFT gear is still going strong and is OK for gliders and some power models. So from time to time I have inherited some old but good stuff over the years. Some as spare parts and some useful. A project that is in the wind I will need to buy a new wireless set. Even my JR is approaching its 21st birthday. I have 2 KPS-30 servos and very few arms. Would any one have any servo arms to fit these oldies. I believe that were made by Multiplex and re badged by KRAFT. They have a black case, quite different from the KRAFT mustard. The spline output on the servo measures 4.86mm. If any one has any to trade or sell I would like to hear from you. They are not the usual JR splines Cheers and thanks in advance jq

[RCSE] Re: Old Old Servo Arms needed :-)
Can't help. Only have the old square ones. They are old enough that I don't know if I'd trust them not to be brittle. Craig Allen wrote: I found this post on the Australian version of RCSE... [RCSE] Ralph Gustafson
I thought I would repost this here as our soaring community in not just local to SVSS Sacramento Ca. For those of you who have attended our Spring Fling you might remember Ralph as the white haired tireless sole who ran the transmitter impound. Ralph Gustafson passed away on Christmas Evening at the age of 60. Ralph was an all around nice guy and gentle sprint who is going to be missed by many including myself.. I'm still in shock and can't believe the friend who was always so so supportive and had such a positive influence in my life is gone. He was taken too too early dammit. I'd like to tell you a short story about Ralph that many of you probably don't know Some years ago my German friend Jochen came to visit and brought a small EPP speed 400 racer with him that would fit into a suitcase... Jocken asked me what I thought...Should he sell this plane or not? I said it was EPP, it was Speed 400, it was crap So the next day we meet Ralph at the field and Ralph goes crazy over this plane... I had to admit it did fly nice... But Ralph was so supportive Jocken gave him the plane before he left... Jocken emailed me after his return to Germany and told me to look at this link It was a link to the EPP plane... And what was its name? The Mini Ralf When I asked Jocken about the name he laughed like not many Germans do and said he had to name it after my friend Ralph because he was such a great guy Jocken went on to sell several thousand of the Mini Ralf until it was discontinued just this year Very few of us will ever have a plane named after us Ralph was just that kind of special guy. I'm sure their is probably a Mini-Ralf flying some were right now in honor of Ralph Gustafson :-))) http://www.shop-rc.causemann.de/product_info.php?info=p18635_Mini-Ralf-EPP-NEU.html Craig
