Amazing, buying 4 cost 9.99, buying 8 cost 24.99
So buying 2 4 packs is a large savings.

And Batteries America is selling them for a lot too.

Are you done with the ESL?

Amazon has them

add a one cent item and shipping is free. (or just buy 2 sets).

I just picked up some of the Sanyo Eneloop cells. My local costco had
the pack with 8 AA and 4 AAA and 2 D cell adaptors and 2 C cell adaptors
and a 4 battery charger for $25. They also had 6 AA and 2 AAA cells (no
charger) for $19. The cheapest I found the cells on line was at Thomas

Distributing(http://thomasdistributing.com/shop/-sanyo-eneloop-aa-2000-mah-4-battery-pack-in-sanyo-casebrultra-low-discharge-nimhbr1-free-extra-4-cell-battery-casebr2-3-877-per-4-pack-3-or-more-857-p-287.html?SP_id=50&osCsid=2dp41kq2im3adbvdt85o44l1m3)

were 4 AA cells for $9.97 + $7.90 shipping; 8 cells for ($8.77 x 2)
$17.54 + 7.90= $25.44. So, for the difference in local tax on $25, you
get 4 AAA cells and the charger and C and D cell adaptors in addition to
the 8 AA cells.

[RCSE] Gateway Open Reschedule

2008-06-24 Thread tony estep
As all you Gateway
Open aspirants know, the contest had to be rescheduled. There was talk
of having it this coming weekend, June 28-29, but that isn't going to
work because of continued flooding and other concerns.

At this moment we are trying to shoot for August 23-24. That will be
right in the thick of the OVSS final decisive contests. The WC guys
will be back with their tales of conquest, and the thermals will be
popping. So re-make your plans to meet us in St. Louis. No floods at
that time of year, of that you may be sure.

We had many emails from disappointed out-of-towners and we were
disappointed too. The crowd this year might well have been an all-time
high attendance for our contest. And it still can! Be there!!

Stan,
I used my standard 40 watt iron with the barrel head. Do it quickly and
cool with a damp rag. I have used button head batteries for 15 years
without a problem. I charge them with my Sirrus charger. The new Sanyo seem
to be
a bit smaller and fitted in the Stylus case better than previous models.

Of course your mileage may vary, but my experience has been all good.

2008-06-24 Thread GordySoar
Perfect nite for set up. I got the new plane jitters out of the way the
other day, today was calm winds, plenty of lift, and no one at the field.

I worked on tow hook location, Diff settings in all modes, landing comp set
up, launch camber, camber and trim settings during modes, and of course some
landing approach timing practice.

This is a very pretty sailplane :-)

Hi Guys,
>From what I hear

The mood is fun and friendly and optimistic, the facilities can't be
described, have to be experienced from all who've tried to explain them to me!

First class, state of the art, amazing...etc etc...better than the play
ground at a Whatta Burger!

The F3J Worlds have moved up a notch from in the general skill levels of
years past...where there used to be some automatic shoe-ins for the Fly Offs,
there are so many good teams out there from a bunch of countries...its hard to
say where the next David Hobby will pop up to take the prize(imagine
David Hobby of Australia winning two years in a row...next thing you know
Jamaica
will have Bobsled Team at the Summer Olympics!)..any way it proves that out
there somewhere is a giant killermaybe already a giant himself.DP,
BC, RB?

Keep your fingers crossed, well unless you are low and way out over trees
:-).
