Re: [RCSE] Foamies versus Glass Slippers
I had heard of that event. The person who recalled it to me (he was certainly there) said that Brian knew the risks a took his chances. There was a twinkle of pride in having a custom plane paint mark on his foamie. There could be a hill dedicated to such stubborn, narrow minded, thick skulled people. Perhaps a club that caters to this niche of our hobby. It could be promoted as an exclusive private club, lacking any accomplished pilots or pristine planes. A re-kitters retreat so to speak. Of course that is old news and I’m sure all parties involved have resolved the issue….I think. Yes, I believe there was some chatter regarding banning foam gliders from flying simultaneously with the expensive glass gliders. Most folks will exercise respect and courtesy when the two are in the same airspace by landing. Others with no regard or through pure ignorance usually will not have a clue and continue flying on. I have heard that some have found that a sharp little tap on the head with a tire iron usually has the desired effect on these individuals. But……there is always the thick skulled where nothing seemingly works. They are hopelessly beyond reasoning with and are just to dunce. There are other methods I have heard used on these individuals with limited success, that I won’t elaborate on, via this forum./x-tad-bigger x-tad-biggerHope this helps you./x-tad-bigger x-tad-biggerCliff Lindgren/x-tad-bigger x-tad-bigger /x-tad-bigger x-tad-biggerFrom:/x-tad-biggerx-tad-bigger Scott Hewett [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]/x-tad-bigger x-tad-biggerSent:/x-tad-biggerx-tad-bigger Wednesday, October 12, 2005 7:23 AM/x-tad-bigger x-tad-biggerTo:/x-tad-biggerx-tad-bigger Cliff Lindgren/x-tad-bigger x-tad-biggerSubject:/x-tad-biggerx-tad-bigger Fw: [RCSE] Foamies versus Glass Slippers/x-tad-bigger x-tad-bigger- Original Message -/x-tad-bigger x-tad-biggerFrom:/x-tad-biggerx-tad-bigger /x-tad-biggerx-tad-biggerScott Hewett/x-tad-biggerx-tad-bigger /x-tad-bigger x-tad-biggerTo:/x-tad-biggerx-tad-bigger /x-tad-biggerx-tad-biggersoaring@airage.com/x-tad-biggerx-tad-bigger /x-tad-bigger x-tad-biggerSent:/x-tad-biggerx-tad-bigger Wednesday, October 12, 2005 7:20 AM/x-tad-bigger x-tad-biggerSubject:/x-tad-biggerx-tad-bigger [RCSE] Foamies versus Glass Slippers/x-tad-bigger x-tad-biggerI recall an incident at Soar Utah 2002 whereby some bozo flying an out-of-control foamy took out a pristine scratch built fiberglass airliner./x-tad-bigger x-tad-biggerHas Soar Utah put any rules into effect that will prevent future incidents of that sort, such as banning foamies? [RCSE] Hades Parts?
I'm looking for Hades parts. I have one in flying condition, but getting replacement parts quickly is a big challenge - if not impossible. I really don't care about color, just condition. Let me know what you have left of yours and what you want for it. Thanks, Craig Toutolmin RCSE-List facilities provided by Model Airplane News. [RCSE] V-tail realignment
I would like to know of the techniques used to realign a v-tail with symetric foils after a fuse break This would be a quality break with pieces missing so that the fuse does'nt index completely. My current method takes several shop hours and flying hours to get the decalage reset. [RCSE] NorCal Slope Soaring Update
Getting the flu has motivated me to do a fairly comprehesive update to the site. Three new projects; a "Bullet Proof ie. Hewett Proof" Rodent, a four servo tail-less wing (this time I've overcome the elevator stall), and "Circle Jerk" - a DS project in the works. DS is #$%?ing addicting. I've also added follow-ups to previous projects, more DS observations learned from the Parker Mtn locals and even updated the "contact" e-mail incase you would like to get more info on suppliers of kits, materials, CNC cores etc. If you have a link, events/dates or some photos that you think would enhance the site and inform others ...send them along. Foamies and RES need not apply (I'm with ya on that one Randy). If you need detailed info on any of the material on the site drop me a line. I think you'll find the information if not amusing (its a sickness I tell ya).
