 Dear Sirs:

I have the solution for the prevention of
 hijackings,and at the same time
getting our airline industry back on its feet.

Since men of the Muslim religion are not allowed to
 look at naked women we
should replace all of our female flight attendants
 with strippers.

Muslims would be afraid to get on the planes for
 fear of seeing a naked
woman, and of course, everyone in this country would
 start flying again in
hopes of seeing a naked woman.

We would have no more hijackings, and the airline
 industry would have record
 sales.

Now why didn't Congress think of this?

 Sincerely,

 Bill Clinton

2002-02-21 Thread HIILAWE

---BeginMessage---

Aloha Everyone,

I am sending out a generic letter to anyone who's e-mail address I have.
Several of you are on the mainland but since I'm writing about something
that won't happen for a couple of months, I thought I'd just forward it
along anyway.

MISO will be holding our first ever Soaring Safari Fun-Fly on July 21, 2002.
Anyone with an active A.M.A. membership is invited to participate.
Unfortunately, two of the sites we're going to fly do require A.M.A.
membership. It looks like it will be a fun contest so count on joining us.

The rules are posted on the MISO website at:

http://communities.msn.com/MISO

Just click on the Soaring Safari Rules link and check it out. We basically
fly four different sites, involving three different flying conditions. You
can use a different plane for each site if you like (highly advisable) and
take your higher score (of the two flights) at each site for you total.
Begin the day with a nice breakfast get-together if you can join us, end the
day at Maluhia with the beautiful view. How can it get any better?

Reply with questions only after you've read the rules page, please. I want
your feedback on whether or not I've made the rules page too difficult to
understand. Send queries to:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]

and I'll get back to you when I can.

A hui hou,

Duane

I don't know.the winds were really light and southerly (Kona) today, so
I was forced to settle for me and a couple of my pilot buddies taking the
sailboat out and anchoring off Waikiki with several scantily clad, buxom
flight attendant friends and do some snorkeling in that warm, crystal blue
water that you can see a mile in and thinking all the time "gosh, I
wish the wind would come up so I could get some sloping in"! It's such a
tough job, but someone's got to do it! Maybe the slopes in Maui will be
humming this weekend..in the meantime, I guess I'll just have to keep
busy restocking the beer cooler on the boat and buying fresh batteries for
the boom box and figuring out what to do with all those bikini tops that
somehow got left behind in the cabin..

Oh, yeah D.P., the "crew" says Hi, and where are you?

Don't you know that it's my job to keep the beer ice cold! Next time don't
forget to call me.

Btw we made good use of your winch this past two weekends, Maluhia had a lot
of thermals and combination of slope lift. If it wasn't for your winch we
would've been grounded. Great time to really trim out our Open Class ships.

Duane is really getting the hang of it.

See you on Maui.

When you reach on Maui you can give me a call. I'll set you up with Duane,
Ted , Tom.

As for flying you can use my stuff no problem. I have to try and fix my
Eagle, I'm having problems with my flaps fluttering. I think it's the control
horns that's on the plane that is causing the problem.

The winds are blowing pretty strong right now, yesterday it was 20's to 30's
mph.
Thanks for helping me get the info about setting up my friends JR 8103 tx.

That's the type of flying you folks up the mainland are missing. In fact that
sight was mentioned in one of your "Have Sailplane Will Travel" series in
RCSD. It's located on Maui at Kapuna point, five minutes away from Maluhia.

Going up there in about 20 minutes, winds are cranking around 25-35mph.

See you folks on Maui!

You should get in contact with one of the MISO flyers "Maui Island Soaring
Operation" Ted Willet. His Ash 26 really rips! It does circles around my
ASW-19. And does everything that my Swift and Fox does if not better. He does
endless outside loops with it all the time, like around six to eight in a
row!

Recently he just went up to that Soar Utah and took first in the modern scale
category. Said it was a beautiful site to fly at, and the people were just
terrific.

Anyway his e-mail is [EMAIL PROTECTED] You can also see some pics on our

[RCSE] Fwd: Soccer field construction started today at Camp Maluhia

2000-07-17 Thread HIILAWE

Aloha to all. To my surprise and dismay, construction has started on the
soccer field at Camp Maluhia. I was talking to one of my buddies that work
for Goodfellows and he said that they are going to start work on the field
today. Goodfellows has already moved that irrigation line that was in the
middle of the field today. Starting tomorrow, they will start filling in
the area where we usually launch from and raise it about two feet. There
will be semi-trucks going up and down Maluhia starting tomorrow to do this.
They will be using the dirt that comes from the improvements that they will
be making on Kahekili Hwy this weekend. The road to Kahakuloa will be
blocked off tonight till Monday morning (from Camp Maluhia to past Kahakuloa
town will be closed).

As I mentioned earlier, my buddy said that there will be access to Maluhia,
*but*, Goodfellows will be grading and filling the launch area for the
soccer field.

Is this the beginning of the end? Time will tell. I'll be going to Poli
Poli tomorrow.

Best regards,

Al Battad

[RCSE] Winch Times

2000-06-10 Thread HIILAWE

Aloha

We on Maui have finally got a winch "Little Big Winch" thanks to Tom
Nakagawa. The only problem is we don't know how to use it as we handlaunch
everything. Well I have a Hollayday Upstart that we have used on the past
three weekends. "Great Stuff"

We now have to put tow hooks on our ships, but most of the fliers on Maui are
concerned about the structual integrity of their fuses. They don't want to
drill a hole in it because it might weaken their airframe and say it looks
weird.

But thanks to some of the Oahu guys who will be coming down next week for our
Maluhia Big Bird Fun Fly. Names like Dave Hill of Predator fame and Peter
Schubert two time state champ, and Keith McCllean, From Hawaiian Soaring
Leauge. They can show us how to use a winch. Should be a fun and learning
exprience for us on Maui.

Anyone coming down to Maui are more than welcome to come and fly with us if
you're down here for vacation. If you don't have anything to fly you can use
my stuff.
