Hey Folks,

I can't seem to find the URL for "that guy" who has the crystal swapping
service. Anyone know what it is?

Thanks,

Jon

Subject: [RCSE] Shred Air

 Hi all,
I dont post on here much but felt like I should pass on a good story. I
ordered a Stratos from Shred Air late last year. I was put on a list and
told it wouldn't be in till March. I didnt mind the wait, but someone else
dropped off this months shipment so I got the *option* to get his. Because
I
wasnt expecting it till march, i didnt have my money together yet. But
Dieter offered to hold it, considering he could probably sell it to
someone
else almost right away this was unexpected. He held it for a few weeks,
way
longer then I orginaly asked, and never rushed or pressured me. Finally
got
a check going his way this monday, emailed him just to let him know. To my
surprise the plane got here today, very cool. Overall very good and honest
business(he even dropped my shipping price cause his shipping costs went
down, rather then just keeping the difference).
just some info i thought i'd pass on if anyone is considering buying
 something that he carries.
 Thanks
 -Luke

Re: [RCSE] nsp o.k.!??? this is the actual email

2001-01-11 Thread Jon Alder

No and I'm sorry I implied that. I just wanted to convey how difficult their
job can be - especially when they start discounting everything - and how it
is natural for them to want your business rather than chase it away.

It is also true that a vendor has to make a concentrated, purposeful
commitment to maintaining a high level of customer service. Frankly,
regardless of the prices they offer - the deals you can get - and just about
anything else, it is great customer service that will build and sustain a
great business. I've worked in retail business where that was clearly
understood and was first priority of the company and I've spent time with
those that don't. I'm most proud of those that did (even though I'm a
computer geek not a sales guy). In an eCommerce world where a better deal
is just a mouse click away, sustaining a profitable business that also
provides outstanding customer service is an even greater challenge. It is
for that reason alone that I chose to get out of the business-to-consumer
world and focus my resources on business-to-business commerce where your
valued customers who value your service understand how important it is to
take care of each other.

As for Sal, I can only testify to my personal experience which has been
good. The service I've received from the others I mention has been
outstanding so far (don't want anyone to start feeling it is ok to relax
now). When a company fails to deliver on what they promise- without a
reasonable/acceptable explanation - for nine months, I can certainly
understand you giving up on them. I would. It would take a huge effort on
their part to win my business back again if at all possible.

Thanks for listening,

Jon

Are you telling me that when I clearly inform said vendor three times that
I
received two of four servos ordered and paid for, that if it takes nine
months to receive the other two, that it is my fault?

In a message dated 1/10/01 12:25:31 PM Eastern Standard Time,
   [EMAIL PROTECTED] writes:

SAL at NSP writes::
Dana. I believe you are talking ...

Dana, sorry to say that is the norm with new customers at NSP ...

--- Lots of stuff cut ---

Folks, I've been dealing with Sal for a while now and have always found
 that
when I communicate my needs clearly that NSP is always eager to help me
 out.

Beyond that, most don't realize what a challenge it is that retailers of
these quality products such as Dieter (www.shredair.com), Karlton
(www.mulitplexrc.com) and Sal (www.nesail.com) go through to get these
for
you. For example, I spoke with Dieter (I hope he doesn't mind me sharing
this.) while out flying a week or so ago and he was telling me about the
 30
or so calls a week he makes to each manufacture only to have around 10%
of
these calls answered. He then (and he didn't say this) has to find a way
 to
take what little he gets and make us happy, which is no easy task. For
 the
majority, they do a great job. It is an unfortunate reality that the
ones
 we
hear about most often are those rare failures. Its just the nature of
things. For example, when Sal got me my Sandy last fall, which is a
really
cool plane by the way, at a great price, I didn't have the urge to post
 what
a great job he did. Those things just go unsaid.

I know, we customers are always right, right? Never-the-less, I urge you
 to
at least make sure that your needs and concerns are properly and clearly
communicated to these vendors before you go about giving up on them. I
am
sure that if you do you will find a partner who wants nothing more that
to
  make you happy.

  My two cents,

  Jon

  ...a 60", EPP, RG15(or something FAST), rugged/durable slope racer. I
heard of the "Rico-She," but can seem to find it--if it exists. The
place that supposedly has this racer is PheonixMP.com but I don't see
it on the website. The season is fast approaching and I need to get
my
arsenal ready. Any suggestions would be great!

[RCSE] Hitec 555 Rx/Airtronics RD6k question

2000-05-30 Thread Jon Alder

Hi Gang,

I hate asking stupid questions I have a RD6000 and this weekend I bought
a Hitec 555 Rx with a crystal to match. My problem is the 555 is not
responding. I'm wondering what I am doing wrong. Could I have the wrong
crystal? Tx is channel 30 and the crystal is 30.

TIA,

Jon

RE: [RCSE] Off topic warning, sorry

2000-05-04 Thread Jon Alder

This is a nasty one folks.

Tips on containing the 'Love Bug' virus:

If you see "ILOVEYOU" in the subject line of your e-mail, delete the message
immediately. Do not open the attachment, "LOVE-LETTER-FOR-YOU.TXT.vbs."

Install anti-virus software, if you haven't already done so, and check with
manufacturers' Web sites for any updates they may post to kill the virus.

Network administrators should filter and delete incoming mail with
"ILOVEYOU" in the subject line and "LOVE-LETTER-FOR-YOU.TXT.vbs" as an
attachment name.

Warning is right. This virus is going like wild fire. My father-in-law just
opened it. It gets into your address book and forwards itself to everyone in
your book. Delete it if you see it!!!

I hate virus alerts, but we got one from our IS department this morning, it
seems real and it is obvious who isn't reading these because those people
are being infected with it.

The I LOVE YOU virus is similar to the Melissa virus in that it mails itself
out to everyone in your address book. This shouldn't be a problem if you
simply delete the message before opening it. It may infect you if have
Outlook/Outlook Express with the Preview Window enabled (another reason to
get a plain text reader)

Here is the text content of the messages I have received (3 so far this
morning)

kindly check the attached LOVELETTER coming from me.

With the attachment called LOVE-LETTER-FOR-YOU.vbs attached to it.

The reason I'm sending this is that I don't want to see this list go down
even if it may be temporary.

Again, sorry for taking up bandwidth.
