Re: [RCSE] Antenna Placement - Range Check Becker

2006-02-19 Thread davidhauch

i used to play around with ground range checking,
moving my antenna to different locations and using different RX's,
and getting more then good results for what they called for as far
as how many steps you should be able to get with your antenna
collapsed on your TX.

Then i got a glitch/battery monitor from Sheldon at,
[EMAIL PROTECTED]

and was able to check things in real time flying and those great
ground checks wheren't even close to being acceptable.

but using the glitch monitor i could get the right combo for my package,
which are gitch free now.

Sorry I meant Becker antenna not Berg.

What is an adequate range check if you don't have a meter? For most of
my

planes I get 100 to 150 ft with my Stylus antenna removed. I get way more
with my stock antenna on but retracted. I haven't walked far enough to
glitch with my Becker antenna just retracted. Also, if I have my plane on
my

stand, I get way more range then when it is on the ground. Any advice?
