RE: [RCSE] BAD VENDOR REPORT!!!!!!!!!!!! - GOOD VENDOR
Give No BS batteries a try. I have purchased my last batch of packs from them, and have been very impressed. Excellent quality pack construction, they live up to their ratings, and if your buying more than one identical pack, he sells you the second one at 25% off. Take a look at: http://www.hangtimes.com/nobsbatteries.html Completely unsolicited, just a happy customer. I have to second Matthew's endorsement of NOBS batteries. I have had great service and excellent packs expertly built at a great price from them. Never had any problems in some very tough configurations including high-power helis with lots of vibration. I haven't one business with Batteries America so I can't speak to any experience with them. FWIW, I learned to fly with Dave Thacker of Radical RC here in Dayton, and I've never had any problems with his packs, period. Same good luck with Diversity (flydma.com) battery packs - especially good for high amp, high performance packs. He really knows what you should expect to get out of a given cell, how much of a charge you can give the cells, etc. Just felt like a good time to acknowledge some of the good guys out there (like Johnny). Re: [RCSE] BAD VENDOR REPORT!!!!!!!!!!!!
Todd, My experience with Batteries America has been just the opposite. I have received nothing but great service and a solid product in the many times I've ordered. I've also had great service from Hangtime.com on batteries. Most recently (two weeks ago) I ordered two packs from BA that needed to be built. I ordered on Monday morning and received them on Friday. If you did not condition the new pack soon after receiving I am not surprised that they were substandard. I always charge a new pack at C/10 for 24 hours on my Alpha 4, let it sit for a couple of days then cycle. The 900 mah packs I purchased from BA cycled out at 1020 mah and 1049 mah. I think you need to look in the mirror on this one. Having a pack sit for a year then expecting full capacity is asking a lot. FYI, BA is a big company and turns their batteries over quickly. I'm confident they don't have any products that sit very long. Darwin N. ! Hold on I got about 1/2 dozen of this blue boxes They are nice chargers except you do not see what they are doing for you I have got occasionally mishaps with batteries ( not necessary from your bad vendor) but as soon I lost my $4000 plane in spring I got really upset an got myself real charger. It got all the Blue boxes under one hood After fiddling with it for over a month I found it most reliable and professional charger my eyes have ever seen ( they seen a lot) and I decided to import them here You have see it to believe it. http://mysite.verizon.net/vze2qbfc/id19.html No more guessing for years to come PS. It might sound like an add, but is certainly straight from the heart, just to let you guys know There is a world out there and there was a plain coincidence I got hold on this charger just month ago. This thing is awesome The other PS forming is one thing cycling is another I was able to revitalize 80% of my batteries to full potential in a week and record all changing performance on file Some of them were very old and now they back in service to desk duty. Re: [RCSE] BAD VENDOR REPORT!!!!!!!!!!!!
I can't confirm it here Todd. I have gotten most of my batteries from them. They are about 2 miles from my house so I stop by. Always pleasant and friendly and go out of their way to help. I had a bad cell in a Hobby store pack in my Evolution XL the day before I left for the NATS. I called about 5 minutes before they closed and they stayed and built 2 packs for me. They both charged over the rating. Every battery I have gotten from them charged to their rating or over. I have used them for my camera, cell phone and iPod batteries too. Their old shop burned down about a year and a half ago now and it is good to see them still around. BTW..They don't know me or Isthmus Models from Adam. I buy retail from them because I like them. I have suppliers I can get batteries from cheaper but I do not get the service or quality from them. I'm not saying you are wrong or right. Just passing along my experience as you have yours. Its a 2100 mah pack The other pack I purchased from a hobby store cycled up close to where it should be and has been working quite well. I asked a friend regarding this matter and He felt one of the cells went bad. I phoned BATTERIES AMERICA to have someone tell me I am a big boy and I NEED to accept REALITY, in that, its been over a year and thats that. I told them I understand , BUT, the pack has NEVER EVER been cycled...EVER. They claimed that I am not being realistic, as I agreed it has been a year BUT I am honest and have NEVER touched the battery or cycled it EVER. I re-coiled and stated back at them then your telling me that NONE of your packs haven't sat on the shelves for a year...TWO...or more?? How am I to know they didn't ship me a 2100 mah RX pack that hasn't been collecting dust on their shelves for a year or two or three He said THAT is immaterial...I asked how? I asked can you tell me right now that ALL your packs are LESS than a year old and all cells used to put the packs together? He bobbled about only to say how its NOT THE SAME POINT , its immaterial to my point and matter and He can't state they ONLY have batteries put together in less than 12 months. What a joke of a company...I have had other problemss and have read some of your guys' NIGHTMARE dealings with these people. I am the one to blame as i should not have done any business with these people after the humiliating conversations and lack of prodcing a product accurate with its description and expected performance. For a measely 20-30 bux they lost a LOYAL and HONEST customer. BTW...the VOLZ servos and the DS368's from Johnny Berlin fired up GREAT and the other battery I purchased that sat around until I recovered from my painful nightmare cycled up and is working very well. I just don't get it. How petty are these people and what TERRIBLE business practices they have. I recently sent in a $30+ servo I bought from JR that stripped out and they replaced it with a NEW ONE...no questions asked. How can a 2100 mah battery that was NEVER cycled by the buyer be so bad after sitting in my drawer awaiting my recovery? I wonder how much people like this TIP a WAITRESS or WAITER after dinnerhow straight-up LAME and CHEAP! I will NEVER buy a THING from them EVER AGAIN. Thanks for the bandwith and sorry you guys had to hear me piss moan and groan! :O) For what its worth there has to be a better place to find GOOD quality batteries at competitive pricesBATTERIES AMERICA has a serious problem with QUALITY of some
[RCSE] BAD VENDOR REPORT
Well, I guess it's my turn also. I too have had nothing but good service, good products and reasonable prices from this company. I've also had very good service and pricing from www.cheapbatterypacks.com I'm not sure that your slam on this vendor was reasonable. Ed RCSE-List facilities provided by Model Airplane News. Re: [RCSE] BAD VENDOR REPORT!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's clear that the batteries, and or charger aren't doing what they should for the customer, and the vendor never spent time to troubleshoot the situation. There have been other posts from unhappy customers concerning Batteries America. If you're continuing to have a good business relationship with the company, keep doing business with 'em =) I believe the reason for the original post was to serve as a warning, and to garner support from fellow modelers. - Steve

I told the story of crashing my expensive plane due to battery failure to one guy an he guide me to the genuine producer of this device. Then I start to look for comparisons Shultze $460 Shultze with PC interface $560 some of the HonkKong stuff $200 - $300 None of them fully comparable if it comes to multifunction ability Then I have combined all currently used chargers Alfa 4 - I paid $250 for second hand charger ( I do not recall how much they used to cost new) Robbe Infinity sold by Avoex while back $240 5 Pieces of Sirius chargers - Current prices total over $600 PULSAR 2.07 sells in Europe for 270 euro. + VAT - that what I had paid for it For piece of mind and some scientific approach it might be worth it Zbigniew Michalczyk The Soaring Little Fleet of Poland www.LittleSoaringFleet.com http://mysite.verizon.net/vze2qbfc/ RCSE-List facilities provided by Model Airplane News.
