[RCSE] Davenport ISR Web Site Update
Pilots, I finally got around to adding some pictures to the www.davenportisr.com web site. These pictures were donated by Randy Bullard and Kurt McCrum. Check them out there are a number of really great pictures especially the sequence that Kurt captured of me slicing off Joe's tail boom (Sorry again Joe). Also, the Davenport ISR Videos are now available. Send me an e-mail if you are interested in buying one for $25 including shipping. Thanks again, Mike
[RCSE] Davenport ISR 2005
Davenport ISR 2005 is in the books and as some have already reported it was full of exciting racing, plenty of crashes and near record speeds. Special thanks to Mike Seto (VP NCSS) for setting up the event and for acting as CD. Also special tanks to all the workers that helped make the event run so smoothly and to all of our sponsors who contributed to the worker's raffle. Mike will be posting the results and filling in the details. We should have a ton of pictures on the www.davenportisr.com http://www.davenportisr.com/ web site in a few days. Finally, special thanks to Bud McCrary owner of Big Creek Lumber Co for letting us stage the event at his site year after year. NCSS will be hosting this event again next year so start making plans on what planes you will bring and mark May 20-21 2006 for the next ISR. Mart Falarski President NCSS
[RCSE] Davenport ISR
I just got back from the ISR MOM slope races and it was awesome. Wind averaged well over 30 mph and gusting to over 40 mph The lap speed were up near record times. The caliber of pilots, the best, ( th who's who of slope racing but the air was very turbulent and I've never seen more mid-airs and crashes at one event (I lost count after 8)and I left about half way through. The landing also were extra challenging as the rotors were terrible. A sight I'll remember was Walter Lynch body surfing in the Pacific Ocean to recover his errant sailplane. The sun was out, the wind was howling and Davenport was the place to be this Saturday. With all the carnage I never heard one word of complaint or whining. it was slope racing in all it's glory. Re: [RCSE] Davenport ISR 2002
Well now let me see. The Socal Paddler Bingham wants to get his paddle back on May 5 so he can spank the NorCal boys 2 weeks earlier. Bragging that u can fly so fast as to go back 2 weeks in time is quite a claim, not atypical from that neck of the woods (pun intended). - Original Message - From: Robert Bingham [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: [EMAIL PROTECTED]; Craig Toutolmin [EMAIL PROTECTED] Cc: [EMAIL PROTECTED]; Cliff Lindgren [EMAIL PROTECTED]; [EMAIL PROTECTED]; [EMAIL PROTECTED]; [EMAIL PROTECTED]; [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Thursday, February 28, 2002 10:02 AM Subject: RE: [RCSE] Davenport ISR 2002 Don't listen to 'em Daryl, they are just jealous northerners who worship antiquated 70's slopers and skateboard style half pipe maneuvers. But hey, we'll take you to school at Blanco this year so you can spank them SoCal boys should they grow some nads and show the following year! Hehehehehe, Craig I think it is only fair to point out that we around here know, and have experienced little, about DS'ing...except what we have seen on Paul Naton's great videos. We have done zero slope racing as well, MoM or otherwise... Whip me, beat me, make me write bad cheques...it's still the truth. However...we are master beer assimilaters (somehow that sounds bad), and sorta(?) familiar with tokes, (not toques - wore these over my brainpan on the ski slopes when they were in vogue, sirca the 70's), and we do know how to go very fast. As my signature indicates, Cogito-Ergo-Zoom (I think, therefore, I go fast). So, scuttlebutt sez there will be ZERO representation from some place called Southern California. What's up with that?
