Yes. Laminating film is very thin and not very tough.  You can cover planes 
with it.   It's easy to get at any large format print shop.  They often have 
roll ends that they can't use because they aren't long enough.


I use clear adheasive backed carpet covering from Lowes to cover plans with. 
It also keeps the mats in my truck clean. Uhaul also sells it:
