Re: [RCSE] Glider Terms
"I'm trying to put together a dictionary of sorts for terms we use in our sport..." Here are some terms I have discovered in my novice year of glider guiding. "Dork Landing" : An event occuring in *close* proximity to the Earth or other fixed objects. Usually involving multiple portions of the glider moving in widely divergent directions. "Winch" : High Speed glider disassembly device. See also : Full pedal Launch ; Lawn Dart. "Spot Landing" : All the pieces stayed within 1 acre. "Landing Area" : Earth. "Full House Sailplane" : Selling the furniture to make room for that new 1/3 scale ASW 27. See also : Divorce. _ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com RCSE-List facilities provided by Model Airplane News. Something only to be used in conjunction with at least one, preferably two other fingers, on the primary(aileron, elevator) stick At your disgretion, may be used alone on the secondary stick(flap, rudder) RCSE-List facilities provided by Model Airplane News. Bob, I feel you have forgotten... Crunchie -(as in, don't try to fly that damn thing when my Zagi is in the air) Zagi - death from above to all crunchie's. Moldie - Something that we all want, but those of us with wives will never be able to justify and if you buy it anyway, guess what you don't get for a long long time. Euro Trash - see Moldie Joe/Darryl "Damn we are jealous of their thumbs" Wurts/Perkins Gordy ("Stay on Topic") Stahl Best I could come up with on short notice... Therms...
