[RCSE] K B primer/filler

2004-12-29 Thread Harley Michaelis
Years back I was able to get the 2-part K B primer-filler. One was
Primer, a thick, white formula in an 8 oz. can to be mixed with the
Primer Catalyst.

When glassing over wood structures, this mix would fill low spots and
scratches and could be wet sanded with progressively finer grits to get a
glass smooth finish for painting.

In the past I could get it directly from ACE R/C and Tower stocked it. Now
Ace only sells to dealers and Tower no longer handles K B paint products.
There's no ACE dealer in this area.

A recorded message at K B says they are closed until Jan 3, but they were
downright rude when I tried to get some this directly some time back. They
evidently do not want any nuisance retail sales.

I've only used the old formula with #'s in the 8100's. The new #'s are 8226
and 8227 shown in an older Tower catalog.

Can anyone help me get some of this stuff? I'd be delighted to take stuff
you might have on hand stored for years. The shelf life must be 20 years or
so.

Johnny. . .does ACE show it in their catalog?
Does anyone have any of this stuff or knows where to get it.
Tower one handled it but has discontinued

Harley!
www.klasskote.com
It seems exactly the same like Hobby Poxy and KB paints, primers, etc.
I have been using old parts with new ones interchangeably with decent
results
I am using it on my scale gliders with fraction of gelcoat weight
Very powerful paint per volume/per money. Very light - One of the kind
and very practical - brush, spray gun, Q-tip on FG, fabric , wood ... on
anything
fades with the time , but very little and stays that way

Harley,
What you want is this:
Klass Kote White Primer #55
Klass Kote Primer Catalyst #415
You get it at:
http://www.klasskote.com/
The stuff is identical (as far as I can tell) to the KB that can no
longer be had. I have used both the Klass Kote paint and primers,
and both work great. They have online ordering that also seems to
work.
One question: What is this wood structure of which you
speak? ;-)

For those that miss the old K B products, point your browser over to
www.klasskote.com.

I haven't tried the primer since I've just been painting molds.
