Larry , thanks for the door opener. I have been working on a sailplane
catalog and warehouse distribution company for about 4 months now. A
website and business cards and preparation for such an endeavor is not new
to me as I have owned a construction /roofing business for 20 years this
year. That business has a life of its own now and I do estimating and
general kicking buts for high quality work in the Chicago suburbs. The
sailplane business is interesting and difficult. My contest travels yearly to
many many states gives me alot of sailplane savvy and contacts. I want to do
it right! I have made many calls and website searches and personal contacts
about airplane availability's. You all will be surprised when were up and
running what ties and connections we can get. I wanted to just offer
SAILPLANES; but much advice received was to offer plane and servo
combinations and electric's too. That is what makes this business difficult.
I am presently tapping into our local talent for help in those fields to see
how that fits in to the business plan.
We already have the warehouse facilities and financing secured. I am
extremely interested in our local U.S.A. builders/manufactures too!If
any one is interested in me selling and cataloging their wares, contact me !
Were ready to do business. As far as the established distributors, its a
small world and I have found we all have to work together, for the most part,
in supplying the needs of the pilots! Those suppliers can contact me if they
would like to increase there order sizes and supply me for distribution in
the Midwest. I havnt met or talked to some of the other distributors, but
I'm sure after this email there going to know I'm around. As of the
immediate future, were stocking the warehouse and working on the website.
Stay tuned ! Richard email :
