Today at the Southeast Electric Fun Fly 100 R/C models were airborne
simultaneously for more than one minute. The pilots were spread out along a
1700 ft
grass runway at Mac Hodges' private airfield in Andersonville, GA (site of
the SEFF). Models were launched in 5 separate waves about 10 seconds apart
and the minute timing began when the last model was airborne. Unofficially,
the group included 53 2.4 Ghz systems and 47 72 Mhz systems. Unofficially,
there were no problems with the 2.4 systems, but there were a few, undefined,
problems with some 72 Mhz systems. There should be a full report on RC groups
in a day or so and a published report in Model Aviation Magazine in a few
months.

I was proud to be a participant in this effort.
