[RCSE] Polecat Silent Auction

2005-06-15 Thread Dave Register
Guys, fair warning for the weekend - I'm setting out from Oklahoma for
Polecat Challenge tomorrow and one or two of you may wind up being
'Geezered' ('Geezered' = out pointed at a contest by perhaps the oldest
coot on the field).

I'm 60 years old, bad back, bad shoulder, bad heart and pretty
arthritic. Heck, on the days when I can remember where I put my plane, I
can barely launch it over my head. If, by some strange confluence of
fortune and meteorology, it stumbles into lift, it stumbles back out as
soon as the pilot tries to do something with it.

Ah - fresh meat for the east coast guys! Yes but .

For the few of you who may be 'geezered' in the flight points, the ONLY
way to avoid total ignominy in Carlisle is to beat my bid in the Silent
Auction and I'm not going down without a fight (unless it's nap time).

Do YOU want to be among the few, the shamed and the beaten who have
succumbed to a guy maybe twice your age (and on a fixed income)? Keep
your pride intact by getting your Silent Auction bid in to Denny ASAP.

See you there.

Hmmm, better add that to the list - must remember to pack the bifocals.

Now where did I put the cane?

Gee whiz Dave, you should just make the shorter trip to STL and come fly
with us instead of going to PA and all that hassle of the PA Turnpike. But
I am quite sure that Denny will take very good care of ya for a southern
boy.

Marc

I've even gone so far as to hire a pair of "greeters" for the field. All I could get was a big guy in bib overalls and a funny looking kid with a banjo but, they seemed nice enough.
