Brad, I fly a molded 3 meter Graphite with a regular 72MHZ setup and the carbon/kevlar fuse totally soaks up TX signals. I have to run my RX antenna outside the fuse with the end taped to a v-tail. If the antenna is outside the fuse but anywhere near it, signal strength is very poor.
I only imagine that things are that much worse with a 2.4 setup. Any chance you can relocate the RX and its antennas to the wing center section, asssuming there's little or no carbon in it? I think the key is gettint the antennas away from the carbon/kevlar weave.
