Some will say that PCM is better and more reliable. I can neither confirm
or dispute this point as I have not used PCM receivers. I will point you to
a couple of articles that discusses PCM, how it works and their opinion
of the advantages.

I been here since July 3rd. It has been so full of RC fliers that
getting to fly was almost impossible even though open flying was available
after each days contest, the contestants would all fly till dark.
So today I got the chance to fly my new Vandal. the workmanship on this
modeol is second to none, and it seem to fly VERY well, I'll find out more
tomorrow during the HLG contest, but I like what I see :-)

The long and the short of it is that FM/PCM has advantages over FM.

I never thought that PCM had any advantage over just plain old FM, until I
got a PCM RX....from the first moment of powering up it seems I can't get
less
than perfect task times, I don't mean that I get around 10minutes
occasionally, I get 10mins every time, and right on the second!

With the help of PCM I now hit hundreds so precisely that the nose of my
plane is getting damaged from the top of the nail in the ground holding the
tape!

Before with just plain old FM I'd be flying my sailplanes somewhere in the
world, and they'd just like fly around and sort of land, it would happen
over
and over and over and over etc.

But now with PCM, well, what else can I say, its clear that PCM has
advantages over FM.

Hope that clears things up for all you have been wondering.
