Anyway, as the Sharon was leaning against the wall, as models will do, I noticed some distinct similarities... so I brought out the tip panel from my Space Pro (RG15 full span)... and plugged it right into the Sharon's center panel. Tooling is so time consuming and expensive on our molded toys, and they have come up with a way to mix and match parts that seems to work. As far as why the Sharon works? I agree, it's just too wierd, but it does work extremely well. Planform is good, section combination = weird. What they had was a fuse with a 7037 a wing saddle in hand and modified the lower section of an RG15 wing to fit it. I really don't think it was for aerodynamic reasons.
