Andy Page and I got our Perfects on Friday, built them over the
weekend and maidened them yesterday. What an incredible plane. A
truly beautiful design. Construction similar to the Superior but
with a higher level of finish.
I hope Andy will chine in with a more educated view (he designs
fuselages for Boeing), but for me the plane is wonderful to fly.
WIth the default settings programmed in, we did about 3 flights, each
10-15 minutes even in weak late afternoon lift even while fooling
around working out our flap-elevator comp, doign dive tests, and
working out various other trims. The Perfect is able to loiter
around in light lift, while remaining highly responsive to control
input. Final approach is slow and yet highly tactile. I have the
sense that I'd be able to put this plane on the mark easier than any
other I've flown. We were amazed by Perfect's ability to circle
tight and slow with very little effort. I think you'd actually have
to work to make the Perfect stall in a turn.
We got our planes from SoaringUSA and dealing with Bob Breaux was a
great experience. Bob and his team bring a sorely needed level of
efficiency and professionalism to the retail soaring products community.
More later with pictures..
