[RCSE] is it just me...
... or is it awfully quiet regarding the F3J world championships? Big congrats to the US Juniors Nice job guys! Congrats to the US Team! Nice job guys! Way to go David! Most of you will never know the amount of commitment and effort that goes into representing your country at a world champs. It's done at a great deal of personal expense, time, and energy. It has certainly sucked the modelling energy out of me... ;-) Every pilot who even gets to a World Championship is a winner in my book... I know... sounds cliche... but it's very true. Make sure, if you run into one of the guys on the team to thank them, congratulate them, and give them a Hero's welcome home! Congrats to all who competed!!! D __ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo! Yeah, here here Team US ! You guys did a great job. Hope you all had a great time in Slovakia Congratulations and have a safe trip back. This is the Olympics of our hobby/sport. Your dedication and commitment is greatly appreciated. I watched along on the website and tried to visualize the conditions and the event. The organizers did a great job of getting the news out. Some of the translations were funny, but the point came across loud and clear. The Photo's were the best way to stay connected. I agree with Daryl, give these guys the pats on the back they deserve. Shout out to Team AussieNice job David, and hello Matt. Saw you in some of the photo's, hope you guys had a fun time... Hope to see you all soon. RE: [RCSE] is it just me...
Daryl. My very thoughts. I was just thinking of the dozens of posts that would have come, had Joe or Tom won. As it is, your junior team flew fantastically, as did the seniors. A real tough comp, when you look at the round by round scores. The pilots had to fly pretty well perfect rounds - round after round, after round. Davids last flight, where he had a mid air, and came in with a dislodged wing tip and other damage to nail the spot, must have been great to watch. There were some frantic calculations going on, to see if he needed to relaunch. In the end he secured the WC by around 40 points. A terrific effort, and one to be applauded and praised. Aussie, Aussie, Aussie - oi, oi, oi. :) As you say, the Canadians and the rest of the world were tough competition. Congrats to all the pilots, for achieving the levels required to fly in a world champs. From: Daryl Perkins [EMAIL PROTECTED] ... or is it awfully quiet regarding the F3J world championships? My previous response didn't seem to go to the list, so... Well done to all the F3J participants, from wherever. It was exciting following the F3J, even though the only news was from the website and the pix. It's really marvelous that we have such great Juniors coming up in the U.S. Bodes well for the future. Congratulations to David Hobby, who won in convincing fashion, the only competitor to max out the flyoffs (all 15 min rounds). And to Philip Kolb, who presumed to be able to improve on Dr. Quabeck's WC design and apparently succeeded. And to Joe, who flew great as always. And to Skip and Tom, who represented our country like champs. Canada, Australia, Czech Republic, and Germany all placed two flyers in the finals. That's a high standard! 84 flyers from 30 countries participated. Their commitment and effort benefits all of us. It's not just the improvements in planes - there are fallout benefits when governments consider frequency allotments, flight regulations, and other potential threats to our flying. And the whole scenario of amateurs traveling across continents to compete without big-bucks corporate sponsorship or TV cameras is just a nice thing to contemplate. No steroids, no referee scandals; just a bunch of champion modelers in a field in Slovakia flying their planes. RCSE-List facilities provided by Model Airplane News. Re: [RCSE] is it just me...
Or how about the zero posts recognizing the winner...and the REST OF THE WORLD; Congrats to DAVID HOBBY for demonstrating it was talent and expertise that made for a repeat. Congrats to SEBASTIAN FEIGL of GERMANY for taking second on the world. OR THE CANADIANS; specifically AREND BORST for leading throughout the ENTIRE event leading up to the fly-offs, and ROLF OETTER for making the top 3 prior to the fly-offs and then kicking ass and placing 3rd overall in the world. GREAT FLYING BOYS!!! AND FINALLY...congrats to the Joe Wurts for taking 4TH OVERALL and the rest of the contestants, and the Juniors for bringing home the cup... Klaus Weiss wrote: Daryl.
