Ten thousand years from now, some one is going to wonder about that. :~)

I have a paper coffee cup on my bench where I put all
my old xacto and razor blades. When I get some extra
epoxy from a wing I pour some of the excess into the
cup, thus keeping things safe to throw away when it
gets full.

Gee, I did the exact same thing only deeper, and had to have the nerve spliced. I got
to hospital at 9:20 am and didn't see the hand doctor till 6 pm. They stitched it
temporarily and then had to re open it. At least I know I am in good company.

Don't bash your instincts, you're suppose to grab the handle silly. You were
just to fixated on the blade.

I'll tell you about dumb instincts and what not to do: when an xacto falls
in between your legs, don't smash your thighs together, spread 'em!

Rick

I had just installed a new blade in my X-acto #2 holder. After a
few
cuts I sat it on the bench, and it began to roll. The first thing
that went throught my mind was, oh no, it will hit the hard floor
and break the tip of the new blade, as I instinctively reached out
to catch it. Instincts aren't always smart.

Ouch! A _very_ deep gash in my finger

I have put most of my blade holders in a vise and bent them a little so they
can not roll..Fits my chubby little hand better too...Brian Smith

Slide a piece of rubber tubing, latex, over the handle. Cover the
coupling and it also helps keep it from loosening up. Gives a
better grip as well.

Or even better. When an soldering iron falls between you´re legs. And you
sit in you´re shorts, beacause it´s hot outside. Do NOT smash the legs
together. It does hurt.

RE: [RCSE] Don't do this

2001-08-30 Thread Douglas, Brent

my new favorite injury always occurs when cutting monokote along a straight
edge I am almost assured that the blade will hop up the straight edge,
take a chunk of my index finger (what I now call 'the chunk'), and leave me
with a beveled finger

Only thing that saves me is that I play guitar - mostly i am just taking
callous it DOES tend to slow down on my practicing (and sometimes makes
me dizzy).
