To install the spoiler servo, I made a short pushrod from 1/16" brass rod. I pounded one end flat and drilled a 1/32" hole in it. Then I bent the other end into an L-shape. The length of the pushrod has to be just right; keep reading and you'll see how to figure it out. Get a good fix on the desired length, then build it as described. I drilled a 1/4" hole in a square piece of 1/20" plastic sheet. Then I took a short piece of 1/32" music wire, stuck it through the hole in the flat end of the brass pushrod. The skinny wire goes across the hole in the plastic sheet (epoxy the ends to secure it) so when you're done you have a flat sheet with pushrod hinged to it. Make a servo platfor out of 3/16" balsa and glue it into the servo opening between the ribs. Now you should be able to lay a servo on the platform with the L-bend stuck into the servo arm and the plastic sheet against the underside of the spoiler. Dry fit everything using a servo driver until you are satisfied that it will close snugly and open far enough. When all is well, glue in the servo with the output arm in place and the hinged pushrod and plastic plate flapping loosely. When the servo is affixed, put a drop of CA on the plastic and put it in the *right* place and squeeze with your thumb for a few seconds. This linkage performs perfectly and is easier to do than to explain. __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Protect your identity with Yahoo!
