Re: [Soekris] No Debian mirrors available during installation
Thanks, Per, Paul, Stewart and Jordan. I got the update kernel/initrd from wheezy and muddled through with that. One thing that slowed me down further was that when doing an install over an existing debian setup, the installer could not find the harddrives (2 CF on an Addonics card). The work-around for that was to clear both with OpenBSD first. Regards /Lars ___ Soekris-tech mailing list Soekris-tech@lists.soekris.com http://lists.soekris.com/mailman/listinfo/soekris-tech

I have had a newer version of the installer (even in stable) come out, making my already-downloaded kernel/initrd look for packages that weren't there (at the version it was looking for). http://ftp.nl.debian.org/debian/dists/squeeze/main/installer-i386/current/images/netboot/debian-installer/i386/ It looks like the current version is from 20120128, so if you'd downloaded before that, you might just need to grab the new ones. Remove disk from net5501, and just install from another computer. But still, getting index.html means that probably DNS server and gateway configured via DHCP correctly. Maybe interface eth4 makes debian installer to choke (expects always eth0 for example). -- == ___ Soekris-tech mailing list Soekris-tech@lists.soekris.com http://lists.soekris.com/mailman/listinfo/soekris-tech
[Soekris] No Debian mirrors available during installation
I'm trying to install Debian on a net5501 and regardless of whether I try to get squeeze, wheezy or sid, the same error pops up: "The installer failed to download a file from the mirror...Retry, Change mirror, Cancel" The installation process detects network hardware fine (eth4: Realtek Semiconductor ...) and successfully gets an address via DHCP. However, it's not able to reach any mirrors. I've tried several mirrors in several countries. I can even drop to shell and get index.html from the mirrors using wget. How can I get around this error? /Lars ___ Soekris-tech mailing list Soekris-tech@lists.soekris.com http://lists.soekris.com/mailman/listinfo/soekris-tech
