Hi list,
The problem with xsibase has been fixed. The site still needs to be
re-indexed with google so you will still get warnings for the time being.
Please excuse the delay,

Re: Malaware on XSIbase

2012-06-30 Thread Eric Thivierge
I'm sure that is a big part of it. At this point my thought would be to
just clean it out, lock it down as an archive and install a newer CMS /
forum and don't customize the hell out of it. The thing that has held it
back from getting updates is the fact that so much customization was done
to it. Most newer CMS / forum systems have the ability to do what XSI Base
is doing now without hacking it.

Another thing to consider is the security of the users info. If you're
unable to upgrade and stay current with security features that is not such
a good thing either.

I know all of the above is easily said, and hard to get done as we're all
busy. Just my 5 cents (Australia doesn't have 1 cent pieces).

I think the forum software was written from scratch in php as a pet
project. I do like the site.
Btw as a result of this latest infestation, xsibase.com is blocked at
autodesk - or at least in the north america offices ;)

You are close. The forum is a heavily customized version of YaBB. The
infestation problem is being worked on from all sides. We are looking into
options at the moment. Sorry for the hassle everyone. More info as we get
