Re: WeightMap Tools going Beta

So its done released into the wild,
My first tool woop woop :D, (crosses fingers and hopes it works)

http://vinyldevelopment.wordpress.com/2012/08/22/weight-map-tools-v1/

If you have any questions let me know, or ideas for things to add.

It was developed in softimage 2013 but should be backwards compatible as
most of the function calls are all custom or fairly standard comands.

Cheers
Si.

Re: WeightMap Tools going Beta

2012-08-22 Thread Peter Agg
Ah, missed this first time around!

Probably a bit late, but here's a few bits I wrote for our weighting tools,
which have come in handy:

1) Limit points to N deformers (handy to run after a bit too much lazy
smooth tooling)
2) Delete weights under a certain value (see above :) )
3) Remove unused deformers from the envelope
4) Copy the weights of the selected points to the rest of their point
island (very handy for GATORing things you want to keep solid)

Is your tool compatible with WeightMaps, out of interest? Using the buggy
Weight Editor for them is starting to grind. :(

get>property>weight map

weight map generator page should pop up, otherwise go fetch it on the
weight map property, its the operator below it.

'map type' parameter can be changed to linear x, y, or z.

I think Stephen means the factory weight map generator - when you create a
weight map - it pops up the operator - and you can specify one 'fill' or fill
X, Z, Y - ermm I think - something like that not in front of Soft right now.

this is only at generation so a new set of tools for doing gradients still
is relevant, like on existing weightmaps or one that takes arbitrary start

Good one!

Thanks. I was over-thinking it. I'm aware of the Generator but didn't know of
