[Spacewalk-list] Entire Packages are downloading over the Client side over 800MB for OEL5 Latest Repo [SpaceWalk2.5]

2016-08-04 Thread Malla Reddy Madupu
Hi All

 Environment

SpaceWalkVersion:    2.5

O/Sversion:OEL5.x(Oracle Enterprise Linux)

We are facing an issue withslow repository build for all the OEL5.x clients.
Inf act client is building800MB of xml files as below mentioned.

 -rw-r--r--1 root root          1958177Jul 31 11:00
updateinfo.xml.gz

-rw-r--r--1 root root     1302               Jul 31 11:00repomd.xml

-rw-r--r-- 1root root 75605328       Jul 31 11:00 primary.xml.gz

-rw-r--r-- 1root root          149870366Jul 31 11:00 filelists.xml.gz

drwxr-xr-x 2  root root     4096              Aug  4 08:30 packages

-rw-r--r-- 1root root         604397568 Aug  4 08:44
primary.xml.gz.sqlite

-rw-r--r-- 1root root          1116515Aug  4 09:29 comps.xml

-rw-r--r--1 root root          777163776Aug  5 02:22
filelists.xml.gz.sqlite

-rw-r--r--1 root root          0                   Aug  5 03:29
cachecookie

-rw-r--r--1 root root        15    Aug  5 03:54
rhnversion

But, I understand that only fewMB of xml files should be download. I found a
bug related to this kind of
issue(https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=729657) however as suggested
inthe bug to upgrade the "yum-rhn-plugin-" will not solve this issue.Still
client downloading all the files and HOST BECOME UNRESPONSIVE. Over
themonitoring side host down alerts.

Guys, I really need somedirection to sort this issue, your time and efforts
are greatlyappreciated.

 Best Regards

Malla

Hi guys,

Here is my packaging.log:

If someone can test this I will be very grateful. I am stuck on this
issue to demonstrate Spacewalk at my work. I have no idea of what I
might have forgotten to cause this.

TIA,

Hi guys,

I am trying to deploy Fedora 23 on bare metal machines by Spacewalk
2.5, but despite the settings I choose, Anaconda throws an error just
after partitioning phase, complaining about an inexistent "core" group:

"The goup 'core' is required for this installation. This group does
not exist. This is a fatal error and installation will be aborted".

I have in my kickstartable tree the repmod.xml from
http://http://yum.spacewalkproject.org/2.5-client/Fedora/23/x86_64/

Someone can give me a clue on how to debug this?

One quick question: Anaconda grabs its repo files from the main repo
or not? the mai repo has all Fedora 23 files.
