[Spacewalk-list] rhel7 to rhel8 in place upgrade

2020-09-29 Thread oogiej...@yahoo.com
Have any of you tried doing a rhel7 to rhel8 upgrade using spacewalk?
According to the redhat upgrade instructions you can do the upgrade without
being connected to redhat, but it looks like they want you to use repos.d repo
files.  Wondering if you would need to do that if you have spacewalk repos set
up or if you can just use spacewalk the same way you would use the main redhat
repos.

It all only depends on the repos that you have attached and that all packages
are there what are needed for the upgrade.

But if there is a package to be installed for the upgrade (that itself might
change your repos for the upgrade)... This might break the upgrade.

[Spacewalk-list] error while syncing with RHEL spacewalk channel

2020-09-29 Thread Wenkai Chen
HI Spacewalk users,

Encountered an issue while syncing a RHEL channel with its repository.

19:00:06 ==
19:00:06 | Channel: rhel7-server-rpms
19:00:06 ==
19:00:06 Sync of channel started.
19:00:06
19:00:06   Processing repository with URL:
https://cdn.redhat.com/content/dist/rhel/server/7/7Server/x86_64/os
19:00:07 ERROR: failure: repodata/repomd.xml from rhel7-server-rpms: [Errno
256] No more mirrors to try.
https://cdn.redhat.com/content/dist/rhel/server/7/7Server/x86_64/os/repodata/repomd.xml:
 [Errno 14] curl#60 - "Peer's certificate issuer has been marked as not trusted
by the user."
19:00:07 Sync of channel completed in 0:00:00.
19:00:07 Total time: 0:00:00

The problem is that the RHEL server is already subscribed in the Red Hat
network and I can see the machine listed as one of the systems being subscribed.

2020-09-29 Thread Tomas Lestach
Hey Wenkai,

I'd recommend checking the SSL certificate you're using to access the
repository including expiration date and the whole certificate chain.

Regards,
Tomas
