[spamdyke-users] feature request spamdyke user interface

2008-04-27 Thread nightduke
It's possible to create an user interface for to configure spamdyke.conf
file.

Can be added blacklist domains, whitelist domains or ips.
Add or remove rbl,etc...

I think it will be a great idea to create this to maintain give more
functions in the future.

Also there's a way to take statistics from the log? spammers stopped? rbl
listed? graylisting?

There already is one, its called "vi". Most of the configuration is just
simple lists of things, and a UI would make it harder - not easier.

There is one for this also, its called "grep".

But seriously, getting simple rough stats from the logs really is a
simple grep and a quick calculation in the head. Just looking now, 70%
of spam is caught by a RBL and 30% caught by greylist. I would be
interested to know if anyone has written any scripts that glean some
good statistics from the log files though!

It would be good to know how much spam got through, but that would
require some sort of crystal ball Or a spam reporting mechanism and
total user compliance in reporting all spam, all which is far far
outside of the scope of spamdyke

There's alread been something similar contributed... I've been using it for
a few weeks, and it's great...

Here's the thread. Read through it though, the initial post had a couple
typos, so you'll need to read through it to find the working version of the
script.

just grep your logs for spam filter entires. If it's SpamAssasin, just
look for "spamd: result: Y" and you get some figures how many
of ALLOWED was *probably* a spam.

2008-04-29 Thread Stefan Pausch
I would love to get my hands on that package as well. I am working on a log
analyzing script, too and would love to see how the scripts were built.

My script uses bash+php for dumping to a database and a plesk frontend for
filtering / analyzing.

A editor for configuration files is planned … but i am busy with projects
right now and won’t be able to work on those scripts for a few days.

Re: [spamdyke-users] feature request spamdyke user interface

2008-04-30 Thread David Stiller
Another thing - did you figure out, how to implement an own programm
into Plesk using the right
template and check for logins? I think the way i did it, it may be a
little insecure as it could be
opened without any login by the direct url...

Re: [spamdyke-users] feature request spamdyke user interface

2008-04-30 Thread Stefan Pausch
Thanks for posting the script. Had a look at it :)

My steps are:

- copy the current log file state to a temp file with bash script (cause the
file changes in real time)
- parse each spamdyke log line to a mysql database, the whole line is
splitted into fields
- write the linenumber into a file
- on next php parse: parse from the last used line to the current state
- on logfile change (log rotate) parse the last log file state and start
with the new log file

On the plesk backend file i read the mysql entrys and filter those by sql
statements. By now i only have a more visual log file output with a few
filter possibilities (domains, email search input field).
