Hi, The mailing list is currently suffering from SPAM. All SPAMS are sent to the robot handling the mailing list (me and francois). I also receive all mail errors (bad smtp, unknow mail, no smtp relay, timeout connecting to smtp, connection refused by smtp, ...). Errors are always increasing, so few information: - If you want to send a mail to the list, send it to [EMAIL PROTECTED] only (not to [EMAIL PROTECTED] like Duncan or Didier) - People using a mail unknown to one of their SMTP relay will be manually removed from the list (by me!) - People using a badly configured smtp relay (mails ending with 9online.fr, jhpx.com AND vamegh.co.uk no longer works) will be unsubscribe too from now on - People using a badly configured scripts which generates errors will be unsubscribe too from now on. Keep in mind that each mail sent on the list will generates as many mails as there are subscribers to the list. Some errors keeps generated EVERY DAY until the list give up sending mail. One problem with some of those errors is that i cannot reach people having problems (since their mails don't get through). Normally, removing them from the list will send them a last mail... that they will never receive. So, if you are in doubt of being or not on the mailing list, you can ask the robot by sending an email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with only one line: stats Concerning your particular case, here is the error: [EMAIL PROTECTED]: host solveit.hn.org[81.129.99.56] said: 451 Temporary local problem - please try later Regarding my new rules concerning such errors, you'll be removed from the list. If anyone have better ideas about handling such errors, you're welcome. My local server got knocked out for a while. the hdd's packed up i ended up reinstalling and resetting up the server i have a dynamic ip dyndns auto assigns my ip to my domain my domain is run locally so for the time that i was offline about 2 weeks (also bt managed to mess up my adsl line which added to the grief) I had no mail server so all mail to vamegh.co.uk would have been bounced.. the reason i want to get out of this mailing list is because of the amount of spam i was getting i set up exim with strong filters (using spamassassin) a bit too strong it was rejecting 95 % of the email.. i used to use sendmail before so im getting used to exim :) anyway most of the mails being frozen are from this mailing list it doesnt like the malformed headers.. although ive now disabled that feature so all mail is coming through. also before any of these problems a few months before i asked to be taken off the list but still recieved emails.. i actually have no problems with the mailing list because if you read the emails you get to learn a lot but the problem is i never get the time to read them anyway so it becomes pointless. anyway sorry about the bouncing but it couldnt be helped.. and sorry if this email sounds garbled no sleep in about 48 hours. and thankyo for taking me off of the list now, kind regards Vamegh Hedayati Liste de diffusion modem ALCATEL SpeedTouch USB Pour se désinscrire : mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]

Hi, Let me clarify things. =) There is no ISDN version as opposed to ADSL version. They are all ADSL. I only said my modem is for ISDN because it's connected to an ISDN line instead of a POTS line. I'm not sure if it is the Speedtouch 330 one. I think it's not. What patches have you applied for ugen? You don't have any problems with -e 1 (speedtouch 330 option), seems to be something wrong with either pppoax or ugen in FreeBSD 5.1 I haven't applied any patch to ugen. As I wrote above, I don't have a Speedtouch 330 so I don't use the -e 1 option. What does your modem_run log file say? And pppoa3 log? What's in your ppp.conf?
