PPPoA3 has support for Linux TUN/TAP devices that do all the Ethernet Job (except the bridging that pppoa3 does itself)
As the News pages mentions on speedtouch.sf.net, FreeBSD lacks PPPoE support due to different TUN/TAP devices implementations among BSD flavors. To sum up the whole problem, some BSDs have TUN/TAP devices that others have not, and like nobody contributes code for BSD pppoe support for all BSDs, the support is simply missing from sources. That task is simply a matter of two or three #ifdefs for each BSD flavor, but nobody seems volunteering to accomplish it. -- Edouard Gomez -- Attached file included as plaintext by Listar -- -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.2 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQE/C1qXR5dTYz5sWMcRAlDNAJ9eyW9jlf67eVKkto8wgxvfvZ+yYQCdF0Mw SFz+0eINk385xr7jhvnVIuw= =H8LY -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- Liste de diffusion modem ALCATEL SpeedTouch USB Pour se désinscrire : mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]
