Re: [sqlalchemy] Re: ORA-03135 and SqlAlchemy... Is there a design pattern to get around this?

2018-07-09 Thread Mike Bayer
the pessimistic disconnect logic will help you in dealing with
connections that are stale, such as if the database was restarted, and
you'd like to ensure new connections from the pool are always live.

However, if you are getting these 3135 errors in the middle of
inserting a BLOB or something like that, there's nothing on
SQLAlchemy's end that can help with that, that is down to what the
cx_Oracle driver is doing with the server and you'd need to either
decrease the amount of data you're passing in, either directly or by
limiting concurrency, and/or looking into those various oracle
configuration settings.

[sqlalchemy] ORA-03135 and SqlAlchemy... Is there a design pattern to get around this?

2018-07-09 Thread Jeremy Flowers
Hi.
We've recently ported a database to an Amazon cloud based instance..
Sporadically I am getting ORA-3135 errors.
>From what I can tell here

 there
may be some configuration parameters that can be tweaked that can help.
But beyond that, is the a sort of design pattern that I should introduce
that would fix this?
When I use DBeaver I can invalidate/reconnect.. Is there something similar
that I can do under the SQLAlchemy umbrella that is similar?
Any pointers you can give would be most welcome.
Thanks
