Re: [sqlalchemy] pymssql issues with nvarchar ntext (pymssql is re-supported)

pymssql is again supported in SQLAlchemy 0.6, if you get the latest tip or wait
for 0.6beta2. NVARCHAR/NTEXT appear to work fine for me.

the "old" version of pymssql doesn't support unicode at all in any way,
and from my understanding can't even handle encoded utf-8 strings being
passed, so assuming that's still the case there's no option there. the
"new" version of pymssql I have no idea what it does but we haven't had
time to attempt getting a driver working for it.

we do however support pyodbc with freetds on unix which is our current
primary platform for MSSQL.

[sqlalchemy] pymssql issues with nvarchar ntext

2010-03-15 Thread Tan Yi
pymssql does not suport reading in nvarchar and ntext since it is
encoded as unicode in sqlserver. is any API could convert the query
result into Unicode?
Tried 'convert_unicode' argument in create_engine, and it seems not
working.
Thank you!
