I think that all its saying is that you can't release your software under a license that forces the -microsoft- libraries to be open source. According to www.gnu.org, that shouldn't be a problem: http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl-faq.html#WindowsRuntimeAndGPL Anyway, better solutions have already been offered so I'll say no more on this thread.
