I can't access share/Multimedia as a drive mounted on my Windows
computer, that's why I have pretty much everything in various
subdirectories in share/Public.

Fair enough. Most people wind up with work computers (which I wouldn't
trust with a bargepole), or cousins/grandparents smartphones or even the
baby/dog/housesitter's phone or computer having access at some point.

Anyway, a look at fine grained access control might be the key for you
to solve this problem..

With pitty you could ssh into your QNAP and checke the links under
/share:
ls -l /share
Then you can see, where /share/Public (now) links to.
Follow this path. Do you find your music there?
Just to rule out that it's a problem with a changed path.

Have you got any further ?

In Filestation in QNAP navigate to your music folder. Highlight it and
right click.
21531
Then select Properties. At right there are tabs for Properties &
Permissions - what do they say ?

Hi cparker,
I've looked about my linux servers, I'm afraid I don't have the original
zips but I have found this installed:
Code:

AutoDisplay 2.1.10
  ContextMenu 2.1.25
  SaverSwitcher 2.1.30
  SettingsManager 2.1.15

AFAIK I could repack the directories in InstalledPlugins as zips and
that would be equivalent to the original files?
Let me know (PM is preferable, I don't visit this forum often)

[SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Control Audio Receiver volume from LMS

2016-11-21 Thread muntos

Hi,

I have a Logitech Media Server setup on an Intel NUC (connected on a
DAC), with Squeezelite as player. I also have an Logitech Harmony Elite
(with hub) remote.
Listening music requires to use my phone (Squeeze Control on Android) to
control LMS and also my remote to control the amplifier's volume.

I would love to be able to control also the volume from the Squeeze
Control application, which I believe means that once the LMS receives
Volume Up/Down commands to trigger some actions for the Harmony. Does
anyone managed to do something similar ?
Is there any plugin that could do this ? Or is there a plugin that can
trigger external actions (like running a script) once LMS receive a
command (in my case Volume control) ?

Hi Guut_Boy,

Don't try piCorePlayer! Because it is based on an extremely small
embedded Linux distribution that runs in RAM, you will be chasing your
tail installing extensions. The piCore philosophy is to only load
programs/utilities if you need them, the opposite to normal Linux based
distributions.

Great, glad it was useful. I know next to no Perl but am happy in more
general terms if that's useful; meanwhile I'll probably finish off my
take on this whole thing (which I've realised whilst good in its own way
probably too complex to be useful for most people as it stands) and move
on. Might open-source it too, not sure.

[SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Web Interface LMS Default Interface

2016-11-21 Thread biebs99

Hello,

I am on LMS v 7.9.0 but have had this issue with the previously released
official version. The challenge that I am having it accessing LMS via
my browser on the machine that is running the service. In all previous
version this wasn't an issue. In the last 2 or 3 weeks, when accessing
the server, the page appears to load, but the message Loading LogicTech
Media Server continues to display, but the server doesn't open and there
are no errors. I have disabled all firewalls and anti-virus software,
still no results.

After uninstalling and reinstalling v 7.9.0 from scratch with the same
results, I changed the Interface to something other then default. Alas,
I was able to access the server. However, the UX is dreadful and I have
tried all of the available interfaces. I am running a stable version of
windows 7 Pro and haven't applied any updates recently and really liked
the default experience of the old interface.

Suggestions?

If you were using Kaspersky, then I'd say it's the culprit anyway.
Sometimes disabling isn't good enough...
