[SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] How to Save Advanced Search Library so it is playable
I am trying to use the Advanced Search function to create a library or search that I can play from my player. I have created such a library (Classic Rock-Flac) and I see how to play it from the web interface by going back into Advanced Search and choosing past searches(Classic Rock). However I don't get how to select and play that part of my library from the player itself. If I save the search as a library it is visible but not playable on the player. If I save the search as a "saved search" I have access through the web interface but I do not see it on the player. Rock). However I don't get how to select and play that part of my library from the player itself. - make sure you save the search as a library, not as a saved search - in the Music menu you should get a menu from which you can select the library view you want - the Extended Browse Modes plugin allows you to add a menu based on a library definition. Eg. I have a "Kids music" menu with only the kids' albums. -- Michael ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter
Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Questions about LMS 7.9
Well, it turns out that the CLI documentation for readdirectroy is wrong, "root:" must be replaced by "folder:". I have opened an according issue on 'github' (https://github.com/Logitech/slimserver/issues/142). Ok, I'll fix this. And KidsPlay is working again after adjusting KidsPlay's config. I had to replace all relative paths (relative to my (only) media folder) by their absolute equivalent. I am not sure why that happened, maybe KidsPlay has been buggy all the time, but previous LMS versions did not trigger that bug!? So: - in 7.8 playlist play is working - in 7.8.1 playlist play is _not_ working You're seeing a difference in 7.8.0 vs. 7.8.1? Hmm... -- Michael ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

If I select it gives me the option of "using" the library but this does not seem to change the My Music selections. For example Folders, Dynamic playlists, Custom Browse do not prevent me from choosing the old library albums/songs and I do not see an selection "Classic Rock" that I can just play. I do have Erlands plugins on my LMS so I guess I could just as easily create a Classic Rock dynamic playlist. [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] PDF Catalogue
Hi Thought this may be of some use to a few people. I have produced a script which produces a PDF catalogue of the albums in LMS. It uses the command line interface to interrogate LMS and the perl PDF::API2 library to produce the catalogue. It works out space requirements so that an album doesn't span a page. It prints the album title, artist and year, the album art and a track listing for each album. For large libraries the output can get large. I have 295 albums and the output runs to 60 pages. It can be downloaded from http://www.while.org.uk/lmspdfcreator - there is also an example of the output on that page. oneshot's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=6381 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=107380 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter
[SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Poor sound quality out off AAC open.fm streams
Hey guys, I tried using LMS to listen streams from this website http :// open.fm/play/138. It has bunch of ad free stations. I have extracted the url but the sound quality is really poor in comparison to how google chrome or other stream players play it. This music stream plays well in SB Touch directly but plays quietly and is muffled when goes via LMS. The problem, I presume, is that it's AAC codec is not recognising/interpreting the actual stream correctly - hence the distorted sound. High pitch sound dominates the spectrum whereas low and mostly mid tones are pretty much missing. Also you can hear some decoding artifacts. Please listen to it, perhaps you can have suggestions then. I really want to use LMS so I can play same music in multiple rooms. I tried LMS 7.8 and 7.9 on ubuntu 16.04 as well as 7.8 on mac. All showing same problem. I then tired replacing flac and faad in /usr/share/squeezeboxserver/Bin/x86_64-linux to the latest available from Ubuntu 16.04 but it did not help either. Stream url: http :// stream.open.fm/138?type=.aac&user=800080391234&player_group=WWW&user-agent=OpenFM-Chameleon%2F1.100.0002%20(BROWSER%3BFirefox%3B53.0)%20(OS%3BOSX%3BIntel%20Mac%20OS%20X%2010.12) Tnx Pablo pablo77's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=66859 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=107381 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter
Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Poor sound quality out off AAC open.fm streams
The LMS supplied flac and faad decoders are the reference decoders - so there will no loss of quality there. Coudl ou have setup youyr player to use Bit rate limiting ? The stream is only 48kbits/sec - so there are limitation to quality already. Comparing Chrome to SB playing - very similar through same speaker but Chrome has higher volume. bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=107381 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

I have completely uninstalled and reinstalled version 'LogitechMediaServer_7.7.2_x86.qpkg' which is the last version released as a qpkg. Here is a screen grab of my install info of LMS.22668 Here is a screen grab of the small test folder with a few music files and cover art in it.22667 Finally, here is a screen grap of my basic settings.22669 Before upgrading my 3 hard drives I stored my music in a main folder called 'MEDIA', the folder sat on the same level as 'Mutimedia', Public, etc... This time around with the hard drives upgraded I decided to store my music under the existing 'Multimedia' folder. To check if this was an issue, I did create a 'MEDIA' folder and put some music in it and again the scan for music via LMS behaved by not finding music. It did find cover art though. The strange thing and I don't remember if this was the case in the past, when using the browse button I can not get to any folder in 'Multimedia'. Under Multimedia I have a folder named 'HD1' but it is not visible.22670 Also, I checked the logfile after the scan and this is what is shows:22671 Any help is appreciated. +---+ |Filename: lms log.jpg | |Download: http://forums.slimdevices.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=22671| +---+ tv69's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=32022 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=107318 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

It is not just volume, I could live with that. The sound has different spectrum. Btw, VLC has the same problem but Clementine plays this stream just fine. pablo77's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=66859 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=107381 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

I can see the library on the player but I do not understand how to play it. If I select it gives me the option of "using" the library but this does not seem to change the My Music selections. For example Folders, Dynamic playlists, Custom Browse Oh, Erland's plugins don't support the libraries - which is a pity, as he was specifically asking me to add that feature! And BMF obviously wouldn't filter either, as it's working with the file/foldernames, rather than its content. -- Michael ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

Disable bit rate limtiing for player - it will always reduce quality as it is aconversion converts to MP3 - however the conversion will probably never go above 48kbits/sec so higher upper limits such as 320 will make no difference.. Some of your description is not consistent I assume your player is an SB touch which plays AAC natively - so stream will go directly from open.fm to SB Touch - LMS will do nothing with stream unless you have disabled AAC native playaback. > This music stream plays well in SB Touch directly but plays quietly and > is muffled when goes via LMS. I have LMS + SB Touch and SB Boom. When I play on SB Touch, without "synchronisation" between players, I am playing directly. When I connect SB Touch to mysqueezeebox.com rather than to my LMS server I also use direct method. bpa wrote: > How did you make stream go through LMS ? There 2 possibilities AFAIK - both cause the same sound degradation. 1. I have enabled synchronisation between both players. 2. Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Lms 7.9 QtS4.3 64bit problem?
Further reporting on the QTS4.3 issues with Logitech Media Server. While searching for various cures, I have also upgraded to 7.9.1 via SSOTS. As suggested by Michael, it does not affect the issues raised earlier. After further testing of various functionalities, my experience is as follows: 1. Playback on the Squeezelite is fine after manually copying a few files, based on post #8 here: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?106851-LMS-X64-aware I tried a number of formats and all seem fine. 2. I cannot get the Squeezelite to work as a DLNA renderer. Server log would show an error which typically looks like this: 0007: [17-04-30 14:10:26.2596] Slim::Player::Song:pen (409) Error: Couldn't create command line for flc playback for [upnp://xxx.xxx.x.xxx:9001/music/670350/download.flc] LMS as a DLNA server appears fine under DLNA controller to server to renderer setup. 3. I also cannot get the DLNA/UPNP bridge plugin to work. It worked momentarily initially but broke down soon. After some googling, it seems that all the issues should be SSOTS related, but it's beyond me as to how it can be fixed. If your QNAP supports Docker virtualization (mine doesn't), you can get around it. I'm further posting my findings to hopefully find some hero who can tell me that there is some quick fix to it, and to hopefully help other QNAP users to at least get their LMS ecosystem back to playing music.
