Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Streaming Line Audio

2018-09-21 Thread Paul Webster

Yes - a Raspberry Pi (or similar small computer) running LMS with the
Wavinput plugin PLUS, in the case of RPi at least, something to grab the
line input.
I do that part with a Behringer UFO202 that I picked up on eBay. It has
a switch on it to enable preamp for turntable. It connects to RPi via
USB.
There is quite a long delay between the audio being started and the
sound coming out on a player on LMS ... but that gives me time to sit
down in the right place after putting the needle down!

[SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Streaming Line Audio

2018-09-21 Thread typecrazy789

I have a series of devices running LMS throughout the house and it
occurred to me the other day it'd be ideal if I could feed line audio
from things like a turntable, reel or cassette deck, etc., through the
server so we could hear that on our little network. Ideally I'd have the
smallest setup and could tuck the source player away in a shelf without
having to have an entire computer nearby to capture and stream the
audio.

Is there any kind of simple setup for this that would be suggested or
recommended? Is there any kind of standalone box that just turns line
audio into a network stream, or could I do this with a Raspberry Pi or
such? I understand the preamp/line issues with a phono and am not
looking for a USB turntable or anything like that, very specifically I
want to capture audio from the analog equipment I've been using for 30+
years. Thanks in advance!

Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] QLogitechMediaServer for Qnap with QTS 4.2 or higher and x86_64/I686/X86 support !

2018-09-21 Thread digimaster

That a bit you`re own choice.
Because out off the box QLogitechMediaServer, will update always to the
latest nightly version off LMS.
And sure one could have to adjust some thing some times, but its a
choice one makes.

On the other hand, one could disable this feature, or even go back to
the latest officieel version always and only choice to update to a new
officieel version when available.
So reading you`re post, a bit surprised what you wrote, because it`s
you`re choice to follow the nightly updates.
You could simply change it, by changing NIGTHLY=1 to NIGHTLY=0 in the
.QLMS.conf file. Then no nightly update will be installed anymore.
And is you remove .INSTALLED file from the SlimServer directory, and
them restart the latest officieel version will be installed.
Our if you`re happy with the latest, and don`t want the auto update
feature, also set UPDATE=1 to UPDATE=0 in the .QLMS.conf file.
And still if you want to update it, but Manuel download the right file,
and put in the download share off the QNap.
Then after restarting the QLogitechMediaServer, it will find it, and do
the update.

Strangely enough, also those thing, are more then once explained here,
and one could read it in the in closed readme file.

So my suggestion to you would be. logon by ssh shell on you`re QNap.
Do (cd /share/*/.qpkg/LogitechMediaServer ), then edit the file
.QLMS.conf.
And change UPDATE and NIGHTLY both from 1 to 0, or put a # in front off
those lines.
Save the file, and then do ( rm SlimServer/.INSTALLED ).
Now do ( ./LogitechMediaServer.sh restart ), it will set back you`re LMS
to the latest officieel version, and all auto update features are
disabled.

Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] LMS 7.9 won't start with Mac OS X 10.11.4

2018-09-21 Thread bephillips

Hi Michael. I moved and hadn't set up my LMS and Squeezeboxen, and have
updated to Mac OS 10.13.6 (High Sierra), LMS wasn't starting, so I
updated LMS from 7.7 to 7.9.2, and still not starting. I ran the two
commands in the terminal, and ran the FixPermissions script too. Still
when I try to start LMS the LMS System Preferences says "Server
Starting" and the start/stop button is greyed out, but never starts. Any
other suggestions?

I understood you want to replace the zettaly. If yes, my question was
why you are looking for an other android-based player. Instead you could
consider a RPi-based one. Lot of threads here about Rpi's.

[SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Feedback DB upgrade: Scanning time down by 15%, size of persist.db down by nearly 20%

2018-09-21 Thread dolodobendan

Just a feedback this time. :p

Since upgrading the db drivers, scanning time and file sizes are down by
lot.

I do think that building the fulltext index takes longer now, but
overall scanning time is down!
