Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] LMS web interface keeps becoming unresponsive on Debian 10

2019-08-01 Thread Michael Herger

Haven’t tried it in failsafe mode yet, but that won’t tell me where the
problem lies particularly, just whether or not it’s in the core product.

That's what is called "narrowing down a problem", isn't it?

I will try with failsafe, but I think it would also be useful to know
which logging options would be worth cranking up to try to identify the
cause.

Without having any clue at all in what part of LMS the problem is,
there's no specific logging option. And cranking all up will produce too
much noise.

You need to install the sound card via the Squeezelite tab, perhaps this
will help

I realised that I’ve been streaming a bunch of music the last week or so
using Spotty, and that’s been much better. Went back to my local library
tonight and it started freezing again.

I will try with failsafe, but I think it would also be useful to know
which logging options would be worth cranking up to try to identify the

Not sure what a RPi is but the only player I can get is if I switch on
my main server then it shows me Daphile over the network and does play
from that.
I am having trouble setting up sound card and output in LMS. I have the
choice of usb pcm2704 usb dac or hdmi on the tv. Don't understand how to
set either up.

[SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] LMS on pCP sound card setup problems

Hello
I have installed LMS on pCP on a Pi 1. I can connect to it by the web, I
thought I had installed the sound card but when I installed jivelite it
asked what player.
I am not sure of this and could do with a bit of advise. I have done
something wrong.
Any help appreciated.

Hi,
I never installed the auto rescan plugin,

My only choices under advanced settings are:
1. rescan automatically when changes are made
2. prompt for rescan when changes are made.

I am never prompted, rarely make changes. Just a minor annoyance.

thanks.

navigation is slow. After hitting 'next' on my playlist it takes slightly
less then a minute before music plays. If I switch radio stations after
hitting 'play' itt takes more then a minute before radio plays. To start
a new podcasts takes many minutes before playing starts (if at all)

After a little messing with this, my problem seems to be related to pcP
6.0 and players on my network that are running older versions of pcP.
Something that will probably get worked out in later versions I
suspect.

Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Server Machine Alternatives.

I tried many times with multiple brands and at the end ended up with a
normal cable. Yes, no fun to install (there has been a reason in the
first place to try powerline adapter) but no more frustration wins at
the end.

Powerline's also have a habit of physically failing more frequently than
wi-fi.
I used to use a pair to get a connection behind my TV but kept having to
replace so I ended up running a cable there and invested in a pair of
decent APs to service the house with wi-fi.
